I have children over and they are begging to go !! So I will try to go for the first time , Only thing I dread is having to drive someone home to Milton after !!   I fear drunk drivers ,   Cool

I've dropped once or twice before midnight... but I usually drop shortly after midnight.

My daughter HAS to go for business reasons, but I've convinced her to take a taxi. No reason to drive on amateur night.

Of course. How could anybody with at least the brain of a piss ant not feel the need to take part in such a thrilling event!

There will likely be a Mensa meeting at the foot of the tower to contemplate the meaning of it all.

Lol... I'm not sure why... but that post reminded me of my college days. When someone got over served and went to throw up... we said he was "calling the dinosaurs". I'm not sure if it was just the sounds coming out of there... or the fact that they were making them into a toilet like it was a communication portal to another time... but we got a kick out of it.

Leroy White, Herbert Farriea were good friends. I knew a lot of fireman in the day. Worked with Buster at the shipyard. When i worked for the City we had to take a big ladder truck to the shop from the Airport with a wrecker. It had the rear wheel steering deal. LOL. Had to tow it, it was too long to pick up. Police escorted us all the way. Kinda like a monkey and the football. LOL

I got home at 8 after partying (translated into english: drinking) with friends that go all the way back to elementary school.
I tried to get the old geezers to go see the pelican drop.
Fat chance.  No way.

So,  I stopped drinking thinking I could come back home for a respit and go see the pelican drop myself.
Yea I know,  ringing in the new year is not supposed to be a solo act.  And solitaries should stay home.  But damnit I wanted to be in that crowd to see that pelican drop just once. 
You have to be one of two people to understand why.  Either you've been on Bourbon late in the day on Fat Tuesday.  Or you aint. It's that simple.
And it helps if you've stood in Times Square at any time.
I've done both only once.  And that was enough but,  trust me,  you really need to do both just once. 

Anyway,  that's why I wanted to be there.
So I got in the car and headed downtown.  I was telling myself "you'll be able to figure out if you can drive good right quick".

And I did.  By the time I got about a half mile,  I still had enough sense to know that I couldn't.  So I turned back to live another day.  But goddamn it I hope to see that pelican drop some day.

I think we need to shut up and ask the folks that were sober enough to get downtown what it was like.  My guess is they all had a blast.
I can imagine it's like gallery night except it's gallery night at new years eve.
And I love gallery night anytime it happens.
Damnit I wish I had a full time designated driver

and then when I went to submit that post,  it told me new posts had come in so I could either "modify" it or submit it.  So I scrolled down to see the posts that had come in. And now I'm modifying it to say...

Mr Ichi,  I would like to take you up on that.
