ROTFLMAO!!!!

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh last week called Pope Francis' economic views laid out in his Vatican mission statement "pure marxism."

"I have been numerous times to the Vatican. It wouldn't exist without tons of money," Limbaugh said in a show titled "It's Sad How Wrong Pope Francis Is (Unless It's a Deliberate Mistranslation By Leftists)." "But regardless, what this is, somebody has either written this for him or gotten to him. This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the Pope."

Pope Francis denounced excesses of capitalism in a document released last week, denouncing trickle-down economic theories that have "never been confirmed by the facts."

Limbaugh said that while he admires the Catholic church, he believes the Pope is clueless on the economy.

"The Pope has written, in part, about the utter evils of capitalism," Limbaugh said. "It's sad because this Pope makes it very clear he doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to capitalism and socialism and so forth."

Gotta give Limburger his due. What does a Pope know about the economy other than milking it ? They got all the gold in the world siphoned off through the ages from worried sinners stashed at the Vatican . I doubt they would use an ounce of it for the really poor and needy..unless it got them some good PR.

lets see if I have my demographics right.......the blacks have been written off, the Hispanics have been written off, the middle class has been written off, women have been written off, and now catholics. Does anybody seriously believe what is left of the Republican Party can be a national Party?

Anyone who votes Republican and is not a rich, white, heterosexual, male should be considered mentally deficient and a danger to themselves and others at this point.

Just want you to know this.  My very first thought after I read that first post was exactly that.
But that's not the point of why I'm telling you this.
I'm telling you because after that thought went through my head,  the next thought that popped into my head (took about 3/tenths of a second as I think about it now),  was "should I say that?" I then got to weighing the consequences of either saying that or being dishonest and not saying that.
In effect,  I took on the role of a politican.

Now that I've had my one drink of the day (within a full 24 hour period of course because at least I had enough sense to know I needed to tone it down),  if I had it to do all over again,  I woulda said it just like you did.  That Jesus truly did have a lot of socialist tendencies.  It's right there in the Book.  There's no denying it.  Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin and Brother Carl and Markle and Pacedog and gulfbeachbandit and anybody else can try to spin it different.  But it's so.

So I admire you for coming right out with it.

I challenge you and that newly catholic convert sal to name Jesus's socialist tendencies? But before you get started, we need to address the first one that pops into peoples minds and that's taking care of the poor. Which is something the catholic and Christian charities do a better job of than any government.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 - For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

then I urge you to read JOB. Job is my favorite sory in the bible.

The lord was fine with jobs wealth. But he did test him.

now what else have you got? because I know you certainly cant look to any of the other liberal agendas to place on Jesus.

and besides, you guys are atheist LOL except our newly devote Catholic sal.

change the subject much or do we want to talk about the pope?

or maybe we can jump right to the point to where all the atheist start broad brushing a entire group of religious people when you know how liberals hate it when other people dare make a slight hint at broad brushing other groups. Wink

Did Jesus ask the multitudes of starving if they worked? Or did he feed them because there was no work available and they were starving?? Did he ask for the proof of working from the sick that he healed.?
I am not a Christian but I have read the New Testament, and you can forget JOB,he was not a Christian either.

Mark 10 17:25

Don't concentrate on verse 25 because we all know that one. This time focus on verse 21 which precedes it. The one they don't really like to talk about. lol

17”As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, "Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?"

18 And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone.

19"You know the commandments, DO NOT MURDER, DO NOT COMMIT ADULTERY, DO NOT STEAL, DO NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS, Do not defraud, HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER.'"

20 And he said to Him, "Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up."

21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, "One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

22 But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.

23 And Jesus, looking around, said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!"

24 The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, "Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God!

25"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

That is the ultimate expression of "redistribution of wealth".
The thing every republican and every conservative is against. lol

And yes, Sybil, I was born and raised Catholic.

Went to Catholic schools through 12th grade.

Received all the sacraments, and still go to Mass with my parents twice a year to placate them.

My uncle is a priest who taught theology at a highly respected Catholic college.

And, you remain an idiot.

Oh I know. They'll say "Jesus didn't mean the government".

Frankly, if ANYBODY, the government, the church, or anybody or anything else told me the way to get to something called "heaven" is to give 100% of EVERYTHING I have to somebody else, he'd be facing down a gun barrel and told to get off my property and out of my sight. So he better be a god who can strike me dead. lol

I never said all Catholics are pedophiles.

I attacked the leadership of the Church for protecting pedophiles among other evil things.

But, I can see where you might make that mistake.

Because, you're an idiot.

Nope.

I made it clear to Eric that it wasn't personal, and that I have no beef with the faithful.

Hell, my parents, family, and many close friends number amongst the faithful.

My problem is, and always has been, with the hierarchy.

I can see where you'd fail to recognize the distinction.
