Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh last week called Pope Francis' economic views laid out in his Vatican mission statement "pure marxism."

"I have been numerous times to the Vatican. Pope Francis denounced excesses of capitalism in a document released last week, denouncing trickle-down economic theories that have "never been confirmed by the facts."

Limbaugh said that while he admires the Catholic church, he believes the Pope is clueless on the economy.

"The Pope has written, in part, about the utter evils of capitalism," Limbaugh said. "It's sad because this Pope makes it very clear he doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to capitalism and socialism and so forth."

Just want you to know this.  My very first thought after I read that first post was exactly that.
But that's not the point of why I'm telling you this.
I'm telling you because after that thought went through my head,  the next thought that popped into my head (took about 3/tenths of a second as I think about it now),  was "should I say that?" I then got to weighing the consequences of either saying that or being dishonest and not saying that.
In effect,  I took on the role of a politican.  

Now that I've had my one drink of the day (within a full 24 hour period of course because at least I had enough sense to know I needed to tone it down),  if I had it to do all over again,  I woulda said it just like you did.  That Jesus truly did have a lot of socialist tendencies.  It's right there in the Book.  There's no denying it.  Sean Hannity and Sarah Palin and Brother Carl and Markle and Pacedog and gulfbeachbandit and anybody else can try to spin it different.  But it's so.

So I admire you for coming right out with it.

I challenge you and that newly catholic convert sal to name Jesus's socialist tendencies? But before you get started, we need to address the first one that pops into peoples minds and that's taking care of the poor. Which is something the catholic and Christian charities do a better job of than any government.
