The truth is, our white, protestant forefathers got everything wrong by annihilating the Native Americans, practicing slavery, and promoting limited women's rights.

Its really not fair to use a contemporary context to frame those issues. America was only a decade or so behind europe regarding those concepts. I agree that they are clear issues today to us... but the facts are that many nations still struggle w them.
