Several California cities have declared bankruptcy in the last few weeks for the usual reasons - too many obligations and not enough revenue. Now just imagine the consequences as this country continues down the current path. Get ready for tax increases - or worse.

"Los Angeles (CNN) -- A California city filed for bankruptcy Wednesday, the third in the Golden State to do so in recent weeks, stoking experts' concerns that other cities could follow suit.

The city of San Bernardino, with more than 200,000 residents on the eastern tip of greater Los Angeles, "filed an emergency petition for Chapter 9 Bankruptcy" with a regional U.S. bankruptcy court, according to a news release from the city's interim manager.

The other two to file recently were Stockton, with around 300,000 residents, according to 2010 U.S. census data, and Mammoth Lakes, a resort town, where visitors and seasonal residents outnumber the just over 8,000 permanent inhabitants."

He's a good President and better than what any of the repugs can come up with.

Neither of the candidates is a good choice but Obama has proven during this term that he does not have what it takes to get things moving in the right direction. He hasn't even been able to generate enough support to pass a budget. Is Romney the alternative any better? No one could possibly know since he is not in the WH. The race for the WH is all about who has enough money to fool the public on a national basis. This has to change but voter apathy and SOME D's and R's insistance on party before logic ensures it won't change.

The bankrupt cities and other disasterous economic news all happened while the COWH has been at the helm!....But there is truth to the comments..If Romney wins and continues the downslide...then he should be held accountable/responsible but as pointed out earlier that's not the standard that was afforded to the COWH...

Very well stated.

California is a pefect example of liberal dreamin.

They continue to try all these crazy expensive ideas, which fail, cost the country billions of dollars and then expect to be bailed out by the BIG ole GOV at the same time asking for billions more to build a bridge which will be built by another country.

and those libs cry about outsourcing. blah

Isn't hypocrisy a wonderful thing?

Actually there are 53 contestants competing in the Miss America contest. We don't think about these three.
Miss D.C. - Ashley Boalch
Miss Puerto Rico - Laura Ramirez
and
Miss Virgin Islands - Camila Daniels

Newsfan, if you would substitute "President Obama" or even "Obama" for "COWH," people might take your ramblings more seriously. Your dialect of Wingnutese isn't spoken by most of the posters on this forum.
