“…58 percent of U.S. adults said in a Washington Post-ABC poll taken in March that the Iraq war had not been worth the fight….”

We are very lucky that technology has now allowed the U.S. to access and recover what will likely be 150 billion barrels of recoverable crude from tight shale formations onshore, in the lower 48 U.S. states. Primarily in North Dakota, the Texas Permian Basin, and soon to be in California. The U.S. is set to overtake Saudi Arabia's oil production before 2020.

OPEC is about to become a has-been as an entity. The Chinese need Middle Eastern oil much more than we do now. Let them sort out the region's political problems.
