I called my broker this morning and asked him what I should be
investing in as I feel interest rates are not going to be rising anytime soon. So I told him I thought we ought to be looking to get out of bonds and finding a safe haven in which to invest.

I asked him, "Should we move to precious metals, foreign currency or
what?"

He responded, "If the current President is in office much longer,
canned goods, water and ammunition are probably your best bet."

This speaks more to the mindset of the modern right than it does to Obama.

How do you know the political leanings of those purchasing these items? Are you clairvoyant?

Conventional wisdom tells me that conservatives are more likely to purchase guns than liberals. Wouldn't you agree?

I must be unconventional then because no I do not agree. I know some liberals who own guns for the same reasons I do. I also know conservatives who do not. What I do not know are the political leanings of everyone in the U.S. who owns a gun. Don't really care all that much either.

Ah. Well then I suppose you do not view gun ownership as a political issue then, right?
