If she would be getting advice like this, I'm thankful that Hillary is not in the Oval Office.

What's going on in Syria is a sectarian conflict and a religious war.

Our involvement militarily could only make it worse.

The one looking foolish here is the one who hates the president so much that he has to use code words like "[name] cowh" when referring to 'PRESIDENT OBAMA.'

Agree and now is the time to voice concerns about getting involved before it's too late and boots are on the ground...

Last time....not a 'code word' or anything of the sort...we were told that using the full name of the cowh was not proper and racially motivated...Don't call the cowh any names but don't want to be viewed as a racist for simply using the name that was given to him...

Thank gawd we have an adult in the Oval Office.

Do you really doubt for a moment that John McCain and/or Willard Romney would've had us hip deep in that mess had they the chance?

Thank god you and me and Sal can all agree on that anyway. Let's hope the rest of the populace is not so stupid that they can be brainwashed into accepting another goddamn bunch of shit like what happened in Iraq. Although I'm hopeful but not optimistic.
That effeminate little queer senator from south carolina and the multi-billionaire senator living off his wife's money in Arizona seem to have a lot of influence on so many of the braindead morons out here.

When the County jail is still segregating inmates.....well please do not tell us that you are racially neutral.........we are what we were taught. It is hard to overcome prejudice and fear, but when you reference our president with such disrespect......do not deny your true issues......it is not honest.

Disagree with the first part the 'adult' in the WH as you say.....but right after Former President Clinton's remarks were made the cowh began to change his opinion...prediction there will be some type of involvement...

It appears the President will remain very cautious with this situation ...

Following on the credible evidence that the regime has used chemical weapons against the Syrian people, the President has augmented the provision of non-lethal assistance to the civilian opposition, and also authorized the expansion of our assistance to the Supreme Military Council (SMC), and we will be consulting with Congress on these matters in the coming weeks. This effort is aimed at strengthening the effectiveness of the SMC, and helping to coordinate the provision of assistance by the United States and other partners and allies. Put simply, the Assad regime should know that its actions have led us to increase the scope and scale of assistance that we provide to the opposition, including direct support to the SMC. These efforts will increase going forward.

The United States and the international community have a number of other legal, financial, diplomatic, and military responses available. We are prepared for all contingencies, and we will make decisions on our own timeline. Any future action we take will be consistent with our national interest, and must advance our objectives, which include achieving a negotiated political settlement to establish an authority that can provide basic stability and administer state institutions; protecting the rights of all Syrians; securing unconventional and advanced conventional weapons; and countering terrorist activity.

http://www.nytimes.com/2013/06/14/us/politics/text-of-white-house-statement-on-chemical-weapons-in-syria.html?_r=1&

Deputy National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes said the U.S. will send military assistance to the rebels, and it is weighing possible military responses. A no-fly zone is part of a “range of options” being considered, but it will not happen now and may not be the best way to assist rebels, he said.

“A no-fly zone would carry with it great and open-ended costs for the U.S. and international community,” Rhodes said in a conference call with reporters. […]

Pressed on what the United States would do next, Rhodes said the White House would share the information with Congress and U.S. allies but will "make decisions on our own time line."

You're not going to get your “a smoking gun in the form of a mushroom cloud" moment from this administration.

Thank gawd.

Agree with the point made by many....where does this stop?....Are we going to get involved around the world when there are massacres and human rights violations?...And how are we going to pick and choose where to intervene?....

The president was naive to have given an ultimatum. He might have enough experience and wisdom to be president by 2016.

But don't count on those fox news or talk radio bloviators to question it.  They won't question that anymore than the left-wing media will question the "womb to tomb" stupidity.

John McCain and Lindsey Huckleberry Graham have got to be the ugliest lesbian couple in all of Congress.

And, how does Graham keep getting elected in South Carolina of all places?

Do they have no gaydar in South Carolina?

Not when it's a combination queer and neocon.  The neocon part is so wonderful and sexy to south carolinians that it totally blocks the gaydar.
If Richard Simmons said a new war needs to be started,  even the baptists would want their daughters to marry him.
