The airline denied accusations that the students were targeted
because they were Orthodox Jews or that airline employees acted too
hastily to boot them off, as some of those kicked off have alleged.
“They treated us like we were terrorists,” Jonathan Zehavi told CNN. “I think if it was a group of non-religious kids, the air stewardess wouldn’t have dared to kick them off.”
