Has anyone ever seen a Florida bear in the wild? Last week, we spent a couple of nights in a cabin at Sliver River State Park in Ocala. I highly recommend this park...beautiful area and the cabins are very nice. When we checked in they asked that we have our garbage placed in the outside garbage can before 6:30 pm every night. A park ranger goes around and collects all the garbage at 6:30 so that the bears cannot get it. We didn't see any bears though.

Navarre has regular sightings of bears as it butts up against thousands of acres of bear country with the base which is perfect wilderness.

I'm glad they have a protected area.
In Ocala we wanted to do a boat tour to see the monkeys, but the weather would not allow it.
