I'm happy to say I didn't waste any money on one of those "most hated" movies. Vertigo and Raging Bull are great movies but I couldn't get past a few minutes of The Tree of Life. Guess I have to disagree with old Roger on that one.
Some of the best movies I've ever seen:
Tender Mercies
To Kill a Mockingbird
Schindler's List
Braveheart
Apocalypse Now
No Highway in the Sky
A Family Thing
There are a lot more but those would be on my all time best list. The worst movie I've ever seen is Leaving Las Vegas. Bar none.
Some of the best movies I've ever seen:

I thought Leaving Las Vegas was tragically beautiful.
Too painful too watch twice tho.

This thread got me looking for Siskel and Ebert on youtube. Found their review of Close Encounters. And from that found a whole HD upload of the movie on youtube. Remembered this scene and got a screen capture of it.
