Majestic Candies Company will make a $6 million investment in a Pensacola, Florida manufacturing facility, creating more than 100 new jobs at the site of the former H.T. Hackney Building at 2001 W. Government Street. "We are very pleased with the support that we have received from the Pensacola community and we look forward to being a part of the continuing success which is being achieved by the citizens of Pensacola," said Dom Perrotta, managing member of Majestic Candies Company.

Nearly a hundred jobs promised to Pensacola will be delayed.
Last year the Majestic Candies Company said it would take over the old H.T.Hackney Food Distribution Center on the 2001 West Government Street but it's running several months behind schedule.

A lot of excitement from neighbors on this opening...
Especially since the company said it would hire 30 employees by the end of December.

The building looks nearly the same as it did months ago.
The sign outside still still says H.T. Hackney.
Caddy Corner to the site, Ron Diamond and Sandra Durapau watch it daily waiting for the marquee to read 'Majestic Candies'

We've been trying to get updates on it and trying to figure out what's going on, we see a few cars here and there but that's it

There are a few trucks parked outside now.
But the doors to the building were locked.
Neighbors are longing for it to open and the hiring to start.

I've been waiting for that day, when they start filling it up with employees and candy

That day will take longer than originally planned.
The Chamber of Commerce says the process of turning the former warehouse into a food manufacturing center is taking much longer than the owners originally anticipated.
...needing to meet federal standards before it can begin production.

Vapor Wafers, Ghost crispes and the incredible tasty Invisible cookie candy

Headed by investors Dom Perrotta and the father-and-son team of Marion and Paul Uter, the start-up candy company apparently is still seeking manufacturing permits from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, according to Greater Pensacola Chamber Senior Vice President Scott Luth.

In addition to its efforts to secure FDA approval, Majestic Candies is being sued in Baldwin County, Ala., by L.A. Candies and its owner, Kyle Bosarge.

The plaintiff alleges Majestic Candies’ owners breached a contract agreement with Bosarge to buy L.A. Candies for $400,000 and pay Bosarge a consulting fee of $120,000.

The suit was filed in Baldwin County and names Perrotta, Marion and Paul Uter, and Cindy Uter as defendants.

I posted reasons why on a comment page in the Pensacola Newspaper website. However, the owners of the paper are friends of a partner in the Candy Co. so they deleted my warning !!!!
Marion Uter is a partner in Majestic Candies Company and he is not a desirable. He has started many, many companies, and LLC and has a terrible track record. You can look him up in the Baton Rouge business records, Mobile Federal Court, and the Colonial Properties lawsuit in Orange Beach or the Fed Court. I will have to say, though... look hard because he hides behind LLC and Company names. He is currently trying to do a deal with the Town of Century hiding behind the name, "North Florida Biomass Fuels,  L.L.C. out of Fort Lauderdale". There he is working a 53 million dollar bond issue!!! Poor Town! And Yes again, he is in a lawsuit with the candy equipment owners!
