I am disappointed in the focus of current culture.....I do not think the best is being acknowledged, and the whole red carpet routine has simply become obscene........I thought I had become a crabby old man.....but quality is ageless.

I forgot the Oscars were on. I'm going to watch. Yes, it has become who can expose the most skin and countless boob jobs.

Why did the host waste a half hour on nonsense when the award show should give time for the winners to thank and acknowledge their coworkers............this is awful.

A great deal of fluff.....I would like more time to listen to award winners, and not listen to jaws music rudely drowning out winner's acknowledgements........I have not watched an Oscar presentation in five years and this is simply awful.

I've seen Django, and Lincoln and Zero Dark 30 and Argo and Beast OTSW (and probably one or two more of the BP nominees but I can't remember which they are). And I still say "Flight" was a better movie than any of the nominees.

I love Anne Hathaway.....she is a beautiful and talented artist. She proved it again tonight singing live at the Oscars......but as much as I like her, there are few more powerful scenes executed to perfection than Sally Fields portrayal of Mary Lincoln while discussing her pain with the loss of her son...............I honestly have come to the conclusion that folks want youth because there simply have been few scenes executed as well as Fields did when discussing with Abe the loss of their son......in my entire movie going existence.

An Academy Awards show that's self-indulgent, pretentious bullshit?

Yeah, that's something new.

What's really different is the bad host, horrendous set, and inept production.

I think there's some psychology going on with all the Argo'gasm.
The Argo story (the true story) is more than anything a sendup to hollywood.
So it's a self-serving gesture to give it the praise.

Everything has been lip-synced.

It's really kinda disappointing.

Even Adele lip-synced a really cool song by a really cool singer.
