Wow.....burn baby.

"The prospect of a Hagel regime at DOD is a real problem now because the next SecDef will need to do two things: Work with Congress to reduce the defense budget thoughtfully, and work with the military to re-shape the military to make it relevant to future conflict. At the moment, Hagel appears to lack the political capital to do the former, as well as the intellectual appetite to do the latter."

Another stellar prediction..............yet to manifest into reality......the ripe imagination as Mr. H starts his reign of terror on those congressional districts which did not line up with the President........there will be a price to pay.

PeeDog is hoping this will happen, but he is citing from a highly-biased source of general wing-nuttery, and an article that dates from February 8th.

We can all come back to this thread and laugh after the confirmation.....

The Senate voted 71-27 in favor moving his confirmation to the floor for a vote this afternoon.

oops........now the real cuts begin........the targeted kind.........all that bacon brought home for so many years, and to think that in that safe district you could trash the President.......ooops a primary challenger who says he will work to restore military spending in the district.......who are you going to vote for.........I think we can call it the Panhandle express......and no congressman with a military base in their district will be exempt.....well at least those who thought mindless obstructionism had no risks.....oops.

This is from Wikipedia about Hagel:

“…Hagel is a Vietnam War veteran, having served in the United States Army infantry from 1967 to 1968. Holding the rank of Sergeant (E-5), he served as an infantry squad leader in the 9th Infantry Division…” “…While serving during the war, he received the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry, two Purple Hearts, the Army Commendation Medal, and the Combat Infantryman Badge…”

Dang, he only served two years (as a draftee, no less) and rose to E-5 in that time. He also was wounded twice in battle. I wonder how many SECDEFs in our history have worn the CIB with two Purple Hearts to go with it?

He is a good man. He was a good Republican. He was not a scardy cat......and he will be a great leader, but his mission will be vindictive political payback.......sorry.....the Chicago way is going to target bases.......you can talk about marshmellow balls all day.........this process is going to be stone cold gangster.

Looks like PeeDog has a new boss now....

And what was all this talk about Hagel's name being withdrawn? Or how there were not enough votes for his confirmation?

Definitely wishful thinking...if you can call it "thinking", coming from the source,...just like the outcome of the 2012 presidential election. Horses...water.
