Actually I hate to tell you guys, but that supposed second fake map really isn't.   It's probably an "ensemble" models map from SFWMD (South Florida Water Management District), a respected and oft-consulted storm info location.

Today, for example, at SFWMD's Hurricane Model Plots page, located here:
https://www.sfwmd.gov/weather-radar/hurricane-model-plots
you can click on and see the standard model map for "Storm 05" (Dorian):

OR you can click on Storm 05 ens" and see the ensemble map, containing lots more background spaghetti models (this map was a LOT more crowded and "all over the place" early on in the storm's life, and doubtless looked just like what Trump is now presenting):

ALL IN ALL, folks, there are SO many SO much more egregious things that Trump had done and is doing, that I think we need to just drop this storm map crap.   Seriously.   We should drop it now and move on!!

Last night on the 11th Hour, Williams asked: "Does he think we're stupid?"

The real laughs from this administration have been few and far between. Even though they are re-doing Franie and Fredie, making it harder to get mortgages, undermining the Consumer Protection Bureau, ruining agricultural markets for the farmers and expanding the prisons along the southern border I think we all deserve some comic relief totally at the expense of the Chito in Chief.

And, poor acting homeland security guy in the Oval Office with him and his first grader's doctored chart. Put a thought bubble over his head, someone, please!

Humor is one thing, but the Dems are being seen as way over the top on this, especially when they SERIOUSLY comment that falsifying a weather report from one of the top agencies is potentially a criminal offense. Oh puhleeze, people!

There's no humor whatsoever coming across that I can see. Cartoons on social media, maybe, but NO humor on the national news and liberal talk programs. It just looks desperate.

It is a distraction... but on the other hand, it turns this idiot president into a laughingstock, and people are hesitant to vote for a laughingstock, so...

Besides, as much misery as living under this asshole is causing, I think we're all due a good horse-laugh at his expense.

Plus, it is a bit shocking. It's maybe the most "Trump" thing that Trump has done, and so it's worth looking at as a concrete symbol of just how fucked up this guy is, and how his vanity can actually endanger people I mean, is there anything more pathetic? The dude got caught in some incuriosity and reported some info that had changed several days previously, while he was supposedly skipping a foreign diplomatic visit to "closely monitor the situation." Then, rather than just go "oops!" or wait for the public to forget about it (which they already pretty much had), he can't let it go. Nope... like a child, he keeps bringing it back up and struggling to make a case that he's still "right" rather than admit he got it wrong.

That's so weak it's pitiful. I mean, I hate the guy and I'm almost feeling sorry for him over this, it's so desperately pathetic. And yet... this is who we have leading us.

So, anyway, yeah, it's getting overblown in the media, but it's still a good concrete symbol of just how neurotic our "leader" is. We all know it, but he just handed us maybe the best example, because it's both laughable and sad all at once.

Yeah he's neurotic, but the scary part is that he's making the country more neurotic with each bugshit incident.

Most of his base thinks Alabama was threatened by the hurricane, and that he's being wrongly persecuted by the press because he says so.

When he's defeated next November, he definitely won't bow out gracefully, and those same people will never accept our next democratically elected President.

This hurricane business is funny as hell, but it's also an ominous sign going forward.

That's why it's important.

Yep. We have a big segment of the population now who either think that it's safe to deny reality just to keep playing "team sports" with politics... or, worse, they're unable to see reality.

They like to talk about "objectivity" but they're anything but. Scary thing is, I don't think they even know how blinkered and out of touch with facts they are.

He's normalizing insanity, and telling people it's okay just to make up their own "facts" and act on them accordingly. That's a recipe for disaster.

And now this:

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration backed up President Trump's ongoing assertions that Alabama appeared initially to be in the path of Hurricane Dorian.

"From Wednesday, August 28, through Monday, September 2, the information provided by NOAA and the National Hurricane Center to President Trump and the wider public demonstrated that tropical-storm-force winds from Hurricane Dorian could impact Alabama," a NOAA spokesman said in a statement Friday evening.  "This is clearly demonstrated in Hurricane Advisories #15 through #41, which can be viewed at the following link."
NOAA's statement also directly refuted a tweet from the Birmingham National Weather Service that had contradicted Mr. Trump. "The Birmingham National Weather Service's Sunday morning tweet spoke in absolute terms that were inconsistent with probabilities from the best forecast products available at the time," the statement read.

This is just absurd. He's somehow got the National Hurricane Center, every Republican in Congress, parts of the military and the Pentagon backing him up on everything from budgets and emoluments to hurricane projection maps. The Fox news clip with Smith (I did love his term: Trumplandia!) must have come out before it was widely reported that it was djt himself that added the sharpie addition to the map. This guy is so pathetic and even more disturbing are all the people who refuse to acknowledge the fact that the emperor has no clothes.
