(CNN) - He's not running for office. He's not part of a super PAC. He's not lobbying for or against any ballot measures.

But billionaire Thomas Peterffy is spending millions on television ads this election season with one cautionary message: Avoid socialism.

– Follow the Ticker on Twitter: @PoliticalTicker

– Check out the CNN Electoral Map and Calculator and game out your own strategy for November.

"I grew up in a socialist country and I have seen what that does to people. There is no hope, no freedom, no pride in achievement," he says with a soft Hungarian accent in the ad. "The nation became poorer and poorer, and that's what I see happening here."
Peterffy told CNN he expects to spend $5-$10 million on the ad buy, depending on its effectiveness. The spot will run on CNN, CNBC, Bloomberg, and test markets in Ohio, Wisconsin, and possibly Florida.

The one-minute spot, which began airing Wednesday and will continue through Election Day, has no mention of any specific politician or lawmaker. It's simply a plea for an end to what he sees as growing hostility to personal success - and to vote Republican.

"America's wealth comes from the efforts of people striving for success. Take away their incentive with badmouthing success and you take away the wealth that helps us take care of the needy," he says in the commercial.

Peterffy was born in Budapest in 1944 during the deadly Soviet offensive that ended in the capture of Hungary's capital the following year. From then, the republic remained under communist control until it gained independence in 1989.

People accuse Obama of making America a socialized nation. The dictionary defines socialization as: so•cial•ize (sō'shə-līz') v. so•cial•ized, so•cial•iz•ing, so•cial•iz•es
v. tr. 1.To place under government ownership or control.
In world societies socialization occurs when governments tax the people in order to provide services. America’s existing socialized programs are: Social Security, Medicare, Railroad and Post Office pensions, Interstate Highway System, FDIC, FDA, SEC, CIA, FBI, TSA, FAA and Air Traffic Controllers, NOAA, CDC, FCC, Interstate Commerce System, Amtrak, US Postal Services, US Boarder Patrol, US Port Authority, National Parks, Federal Prison System, US Mint, US Army, US Navy, US Air Force, US Coast Guard, National Cemeteries, and NASA are some of America’s social programs that are already in existence. State socialized programs include Road and Bridge building and maintenance, National Guard, Emergency Management, Highway Patrol, and State Prison System. Local socialized programs are, County Law Enforcement and Jail, County Road and Bridge maintenance. Fire Department, Police Department, County Ambulance, Animal Control, Sewer and Water maintenance, Street and Alley maintenance, plus recreational activities such as City Parks and Playgrounds. . Every American already has healthcare available, but many have no health insurance. They just show up at the Emergency Room, which is the most expensive way to deliver general healthcare. Somehow adding a national healthcare program is seen as the demon that will cause America to become a socialized nation. We are already a well-socialized nation and have been for decades and in some cases centuries.

Yeah we are clearly living in a Fascism.....

It's the Corporate State,

"Fascism should more properly be called corporatism because it is the merger of state and corporate power." - Benito Mussolini.

The structure of fascism is the union, marriage, merger or fusion of corporate economic power with governmental power. Failing to understand fascism, as the consolidation of corporate economic and governmental power in the hands of a few, is to completely misunderstand what fascism is. It is the consolidation of this power that produces the demagogues and regimes we understand as fascist ones.

While we Americans have been trained to keenly identify the opposite of fascism, i.e., government intrusion into and usurpation of private enterprise, we have not been trained to identify the usurpation of government by private enterprise. Our European cousins, on the other hand, having lived with Fascism in several European countries during the last century, know it when they see it, and looking over here, they are ringing the alarm bells. We need to learn how to recognize Fascism now.

No one said social programs were not already in place. I am well aware they are. We are at a tipping point though and we are very close to crossing the line.

More and more we our politicians do nothing but promise free gifts for a vote in one form or another.

Our patriotism is killed, love for country. Our votes have become nothing but a tool to see what I can get for myself (not me, but most in general) and it goes to the highest bidder. We should be ashamed of ourself as a civilized country to have allowed our system to get this screwed up because of selfishness. ALL SIDES

I fear soon we may not be able to stay America.

Be strong enough to have honest open debate on where we really are in this country and put your personal prefrenced pride aside.

TEO, it is my view that Romney will take Corporate Power to a whole new plateau in the running of this country. I have my doubts about BOTH candidates. Each one has good ideas and bad ideas, but I believe Obama has better ideas that Romney who seems to think the "Trickle Down" philosophy actually works. I doubt that either of the two will change things very much. I hope whoever wins will not destroy this country with more war spending for the further enrichment of Military-Industrial-Complex.

Is it even possible to talk about the state of the country and where we are headed without making it about the politic of the day?

Does some how pointing out this politician this or that really changes the complete direction of the country?

I dont think it does. I think a lot of what our issues are ARE OUR FAULT.

Each group, left or right is constantly pointing to a politican, like you just done here. as if they could change a entire train of thought over night.

It took us a long long time to get to this place in time to where we really do have to make some hard decisions and decide if what this country was founded on is what we want.

and Im afraid that with so much overwhelming bullhockey that has been shoved on the selfish brainless non thinkers other than what is in it for me's, we are going to go past the point of no return. Bascically most people have just stopped thinking for themsleves.

People seem to think that if they have a thought these days, it must coincide with some other persons idea. Its bazzar really.

and yes, yella, I think it was very clever of you to play into teos hatred of the MIC. But I know why you did it. because everything in life is so perfectly black and white.

then we will begin going the other way... like russia, china... etc.

but we will never again be the unique and original and sovereign land of opportunity... that will be lost.

soros says that the US is the greatest obstacle to a one world government... i think he is right... and wrong.

I was only stating my view, chrissy. but I did NOT post it for TEO. The MIC is real and is eating this country alive. Maybe you might Google MIC and read a little about what is happening. It is all about Corporate greed and the manufacture and sale of war materials, that our government pays astronomical prices for and also they will sell to our enemies without a blink. They are in it for the money. It has nothing to do with patriotism.

I think Romney will be as big a corporate stooge as Bush was. Even more so since I think he might do anything for a buck(or a million of them).

i guess if you ignore the obama relationship with corps like GE and goldman sachs and big pharma... etc...

what you say could be true... but how does "saving" wall street and big banks and huge corps like GM fit into it?

bad ideas fail. yes that would have done us a favor in the long run... real values would have happened quickly.

if the govt "had" to act... it could have crammed down home values in favor of the private individual. the money still would have still wound up in the same place... only with some value to the people.

but neither are real solutions... the debt and fed printing are doing damage that we lilely can not overcome or grow out of.

ever heard of the 1920 depression? the govt in this country wasn't intended to "save" us. we don't really neeeed that.

have you wondered why the stock market has been going up?

It was still a bankruptcy. The only difference between Romney and Obamas plan for the auto industry is Romneys plan was a bankruptcy and Obamas was a government structured bankruptcy/bailout.

"A more intellectually honest synopsis for Ohio’s voters would be something like the following:

When GM and Chrysler failed, Governor Romney’s approach would have been a rule-of-law bankruptcy process, followed by consumer-driven selection of the pecking order for American-based car companies. Instead, both the Bush and Obama administrations favored White House-directed bankruptcy, followed by life support for the two failed companies. "
