Broward GOP uncovers a nasty secret about its young party secretary Rupert2

The Broward County Republicans are in turmoil today after revelations that a freshly elected member of their executive board is a man who once was charged with attempted murder in the savage claw-hammer beating of a then-classmate at a Los Angeles prep school for multi-millionaires’ children.

Four months after 28-year-old Rupert Tarsey was elected secretary, party officials have found out the young philanthropist and supporter of President Donald Trump is really Rupert Ditsworth.

And a decade ago, the then-Beverly Hills teenager was charged with attempted murder in Los Angeles after hitting Harvard-Westlake School classmate Elizabeth Barcay over the head at least 40 times, splitting her skull open.

Now, local GOP bigs are desperate for Tarsey to resign and worried about the image of the party in the overwhelmingly Democratic turf of former DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman-Schultz.

Thing is, Tarsey says he was elected fair and square and has no plan to resign.

“Why should I resign,” he asked in an exclusive interview from his $2 million beachfront condo. “I did nothing wrong and I was elected. This is just party politics.”

According to records, Tarsey started using his mother’s maiden name when he moved to Fort Lauderdale two years after the assault.

“I’m estranged from my dad,” he said, adding he didn’t change his name in order to hide his real identity.

After earning an MBA from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Tarsey got married and had two children, with another one on the way.

For years, he quietly volunteered on Republican campaigns, including Trump’s. Then in May, Tarsey presented himself at the election for the party’s executive board. He won a three-candidate race for secretary with 75 votes.

Tarsey’s real identity was discovered by a member who alerted local GOP Chairman Bob Sutton over the Labor Day weekend.

“We were blindsided,” said Sutton, a schoolteacher. “He’s a member of the Knights of Columbus, for Christ’s sake. And he came highly recommended by the former chair. We had no idea what his background is. We want him out but he is refusing to resign. He deceived us. It looks like he even used a reputation management firm to make sure we wouldn’t find out who he is.”

Sutton suspended Tarsey from party functions on Tuesday.

The grandson of Jason Tarsey, owner of the historic Dunes Hotel in Las Vegas, Tarsey was arrested in 2007 after the violent incident in a car near the private school.

Tarsey, according to published reports, invited Barcay, the daughter of a Beverly Hills plastic surgeon, to ride with him to Jamba Juice after a big exam.

Tarsey eventually parked the car and allegedly pulled a hammer from a backpack. He then started hitting her over the head, opened the passenger’s door and pulled her out while choking her before driving away.

According to the Times, Tarsey’s parents rushed him into psychiatric treatment as Barcay recovered painfully and eventually attended the school prom in a wheelchair.

At first, California prosecutors filed the case in juvenile court, but it was dismissed. They tried it again in adult court.

“In the end, I pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor,” Tarsey said. “It’s not the charges that matter, it’s what happens in court.”

Tarsey, 6 feet 2 inches tall, claimed self-defense.

“This whole thing is in retaliation for my speaking out against Bob [Sutton],” Tarsey said. “It’s politics.”

Would this be your latest distraction to keep the board from looking at HOR member Menendez or Corey Booker's latest trangressions?

Or from the fact that the last DNC chair helped to manipulate the 2016 elections in favor of Hillary over Senator Sanders? Or Wasserman-Schultz's stupidity over trying to keep IT on the job and being paid after he violated as many secrets/oaths/ etc on classified info and then trying to run to Pakistan with about 300k taxpayer money?

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy ohboyoboyboy!

Let tot a few things up, shall we, Mr. Glass house-living, stone-throwing imbecile.

In 1980 a Repulican Representative from Mississippi, Jon Hinson informed his constituents that he had been accused of committing an obscene act in a gay bar in 1976 and that he survived a fire in a gay movie theater in D.C. Hinson, a married man and strict "family values" conservative resigned in 1981 and died of AIDS in '95

Also in 1980 Robert Bauman, a Republican Congressman from Maryland was accused of soliciting sex from a 16 year old boy, an act he tried to explain away by blaming it on his alcoholism. He was another "family values" Republican--imagine that! After he lost his bid for re-election, he published an autobiography: "The Gentleman from Maryland: The Conscience of a Gay Conservative". It didn't sell well and he had to return the advance.

In '81 the Republican Representative from Delaware, Thomas Evans, was found to have been sexually involved with one Paula Parkinson, a attractive D.C. lobbyist. Naturally enough, the affair was dubbed "Parkinson's disease" because she had apparently used her lubricious attractions to involve herself in sexual dalliances with several other Congressmen, some of which she video taped. After this was discovered and her career prospects took a nose dive, she tried to sell her story but there were no takers because she wouldn't name any names other than Evans's. He, regrettably, lost his bid for re-election along with his family but he did beg God for forgiveness. That issue remains unresolved.

In 1990 Arlan Strangeland (R. MN) got caught up in a scandal involving a female lobbyist from Virginia. His very conservative constituents excused his behavior by saying "Strangeland's such a stong family man that he wanted to have two of them," or so the story goes. He was not, however, returned to Congress.

In '92 we had the Robert Packwood affair. You can easily google that ugly business but the denoument was that the House Ethics Committee recommended he be expelled from Congress. He resigned to avoid that disgrace.

In 1993 Ken Calvert, a Republican Representative from California, got caught by the police in his hometown, naked in the back his car with a hooker giving him a blow job. You go, Ken!

In 1998 Dan Burton (R. IN), one of Clinton's harsest critics, admitted that his extramarital affairs caused three seperations, a near-divorce and an illigitimate child.

Also in 1998, Helen Chenowith, another strong "family values" advocate who had called for Clinton's resignation was exposed by her hometown newspaper with involvement in a years-long extra-marital affair. She said she wasn't proud of it. No duh, Helen!

And again in '98, there was the Henry Hyde scandal when it was revealed that he had had an affair with Cherie Snodgrass, a woman with three children, that ultimately ended in her divorce. Hyde described it as "a youthful indisrection".

Boy, '98 was a banner year for this stuff. That was the same year Newt Gingrich told his dying wife he was divorcing her and then married a woman with whom he was having an affair.

That was also the same year that Robert Livingston (R.LA), who succeeded Gingrich as Speaker of the House, resigned both his post and his seat in Congress after Larry Flynt dug up some dirt on him involving several women who came forward to admit sexual frolics with the Speaker. Ah, those Republican "family values": Do as I say, not as I do.

But wait, there's more: In 1975 Jon Hinson, an aide to a Mississippi Representative got caught exposing himself to an undercover cop AT THE IWO JIMA MEMORIAL IN ARLINGTON! In '81, when he had ascended to Congress himself, he got caught sucking off a young clerk in a House of Representatives bathroom. He died of AIDS at 53. Pity.

In 2008, a former Alabama Attorney General who had railed against homosexuality, calling it the "downfall of society" got caught in bed with a male aide by his wife.

In 2010 California State Senator Roy Ashburn, who voted against every piece of LBGT legislation that crossed his desk, got pulled over for drunk driving after leaving a Sacramento gay bar with another man in his car.

There's a bunch more of these, but I'm tired of typing.

This was fun ALTLEFTDOOFUS, wanna play another round? Go ahead, you start...

It was a mistake they corrected as soon as they learned of it.

You should have read the whole article. Here's the last line: "NBC appended a correction to the bottom of its article, saying Menedez' party affiliation had been "misstated.'"

This man tried to murder someone with a hammer.

He was using an assumed name.

He refused to resign but was handed his walking papers.
