From the outset, Donald Trump has called the search for the truth about connections between his 2016 campaign and Russia a “hoax” and a “witch hunt.” Along the way, he has taken unprecedented steps to stop it. As President Trump foments chaos and confusion about what actually happened — and what continues to happen — this Trump/Russia timeline seeks to offer order and clarity.

Since we first launched it in February, the timeline has grown from 24 entries to more than 400 — and the saga is far from over. Reading it from start to finish is a daunting task, so we’ve added tools that enable users to narrow its content by individual. And, of course, we’ll continue updating it.

Are several congressional committees and special counsel Robert Mueller wasting their time on a “hoax” and a “witch hunt”? Review the timeline, follow updates as they appear and decide for yourself.

When Is A Russian 'Hack' Not A Hack? Evidence Suggests DNC email Hack Was An Inside Job

Excerpt:

One year ago, the news broke that the Democratic National Committee had been hacked. Tongues began wagging and fingers began pointing that Russia was behind it. However, Democrats might want to get the Kremlin on the phone and offer an apology because a new report suggests the DNC hack may not have been a "hack" at all.

It could have been an inside job.

According to a new report at The Nation, forensic experts and former national security advisers have quietly gathered over the last several months to examine the breach and they have determined the DNC email hack heard ‘round the world was conducted from within the DNC.

The report says that "forensic investigators, intelligence analysts, system designers, program architects, and computer scientists of long experience and strongly credentialed are now producing evidence disproving the official version of key events last year. Their work is intricate and continues at a kinetic pace as we speak."

The group found that "there was no hack of the Democratic National Committee's system on July 5 last year—not by the Russians, not by anyone else."

The report continues, "Hard science now demonstrates it was a leak—a download executed locally with a memory key or a similarly portable data-storage device. In short, it was an inside job by someone with access to the DNC's system."

So, who leaked the emails?

Was it someone at the DNC who, after a bruising primary season, didn't like Hillary Clinton? It's possible.

Could it have been the infamous Awan brothers who acted not only as IT aides to Congress, but as IT consultants to the DNC? It's not only possible, but feasible given what we know now.

Or could it have been the DNC itself, leaking emails disguised as a hack to illicit (sic) sympathy and to create confusion in the election?

No one knows just yet, but investigators are getting closer to pinpointing the source.

Until they do, it looks like the DNC owes a big apology to Russia and to President Trump

President Trump obstructed justice. He will be faced with indictment. He will pardon all his family and aides, and will try to do the same for himself. He will then resign. This will all take place before the midterms. The Supreme Court will probably deny all pardon's as being what was not intended by the constitution as it was meant to apply to third parties, not active conspiracies of the President because otherwise we would have a monarchy. Sovereign immunity was overturned by the courts in the early sixties, and a self pardon, or pardon for active co conspirators will not pass the constitutional test. He is going to jail.

The co-author of Donald Trump’s memoir The Art of the Deal has predicted the US President is going to resign by autumn if not sooner.

He said: “The circle is closing at blinding speed. Trump is going to resign and declare victory before Mueller and Congress leave him no choice”.

“Trump's presidency is effectively over. Would be amazed if he survives till the end of the year. More likely resigns by fall, if not sooner.”

This would, of course, be the worst of all possible worlds. If the mindbogglingly incompetent Trump resigns then the crypto-fascist Christian extremist Pence would become President and we would REALLY be in a world of shit.

I like your timeline. The author of his book The Art of the Deal also thinks he will resign sooner rather than later. If/when he resigns, what happens to the Mueller investigation and those being conducted by Congressional committees? Do they continue or is the door slammed shut? Surely we need to know the full story?

I think there are enough provable crimes in Trump's history to make collusion with the Russians a moot point but the country needs to know about that too so it can be guarded against happening again.

There have already been established Russian Collusion, and obstruction of Justice. The state has a prima facia case, and it will go to a grand jury. A complete no brainer. The President was very ill advised to participate in scouring the facts on his son's meetings with the Russians. I think it will be clearly established that he had prior knowledge, and his obstruction of the investigation has already been admitted. This really is very simple.
