Cleveland is going to be able to build a winning program around this kid. He really is playing well.

Bread and circuses...Wish I like to watch millionaires in tights run into each other and pretend like I was a part of the team..LOL..... Enjoy, just musing over our culture or lack thereof.

i loved playing sports, and nothing is better than watching the Chicago Bears.......you either get it or you do not. Some people do not like watching a particular sport.....I like almost all of them. The Richardson kid is going to make Pensacola proud.

Why will he make Pensacola proud ?...It's like potatoes being proud of other potatoes because they came out of the same dirt....weird..yeah I don't get it at all.

Yeah he will make Pensacola proud just like Emmitt Smith and Derek Brooks. One lives in Texas and calls Texas home the other in Tampa and calls Tampa home. Yes they both come back to Pensacola occasionally say that they do, but it is nothing more than to bring notice to themselves.

How many Pensacola sports celebrities still call Pensacola home? Most if not all could not wait to leave Pensacola in their dust as they were leaving town.

I'm not saying that Richardson will not be a super-star, because I like you believe he is someone that the Browns can build around, but I can almost guarantee that when the status gets to him he will be just like all the rest and forget about Pensacola.

I do think it's pathetic. I played lots of sports and was good at them
but I never thought that it made me anything special. I just don't need
to bask in some teams supposed glory that couldn't care less about my
existence.

I saw Emmit Smith at the pick up window of a Wendy's in Milton once. I thought the girls behind the counter were going to wet themselves....it really seemed silly to me but then that's me. I also sat at a table near Roy Jones at a country Buffet down on Navy once.. people drove him crazy asking for autographs and just wanting to meet him...also seemed quite silly to me...

My grand-daughter wanted Emmitt Smith to autograph her Dallas Cowboys cap at the grand opening of a Smith establishment in Pensacola a few years ago and he was going to charge her $10.00 for the autograph. Needless to say I lost all respect for Emmitt Smith that very day. All of the atta-boys that he had garnered in college and the pros were flushed down the drain with that one Ohhhhh-Shit as far as I was concerned.

I met Butkus once.....shook his hand......he had hands like a baseball glove. I always loved to watch his intensity, but most of all I loved to watch him intercept the ball, and look for an offensive player to hit....that appeals to me....I may be a sick puppy....but sometimes it feels good hitting someone and calling it a game. Richardson is strong and incredibly quick. He is patient to let his blockers set up. I think he will be a top running back in the NFL in three years, and I think Cleveland can build around this kid.

I wouldn't ask Jesus for his autograph and I don't think he would want me to....

I don't believe so. He recently sold his home in North Carolina and purchased one in Arizona.

“For the past two years they have stayed in Scottsdale where their main home is through the winter and then come here in April and stayed through October,”

I agree with Teo. I know it is sacrilegious to speak bad about sports, but I really dont give a damn. I always wanted to hear the announcement that the "Bears?" lost because Bill Smith in Row 7 did not make the game. Sports to me is like Porn, I dont have the need to watch someone have fun or sex, I would rather be doing it. Not a watcher....

Emmitt stayed in Texas because the business opportunities are much better for the investments he has to oversee. The same can be said for Derrick Brooks. Both have become icons in the communities that adopted them. There is no harm in that. I can remember when three kids in a class I taught were allowed to have a free winter jacket courtesy of the charity foundation Emmitt Smith runs.
