Ladies and gents, I present for your listening enjoyment, one of the best vocalists who ever made a pop record, Gene Hughes.

I pity anyone who never got to hear this record played on the jukebox at the Pensacola Beach Casino in 1959.

I'm currently stealing as many of these from youtube as I can find for my jukebox.

I like that...

It brings back the innocence of the middle '60's. (Well, I was innocent... and wanted to be far from it... Twisted Evil )

That's from a television program titled "Rock n Roll Graffiti". All those folks you see seated are other early rock n roll recording artists who also performed on the program.

Sock hops, 45 rpm records and CHUCK Berry. He was beyond good. this was 1958, you have any idea how good a Black man had to be to have his records and music played in american Legion halls?

That jukebox pictured at the beginning of the video is the same model as the first 78 rpm Wurlitzer I ever found, hallmark.
It's what is referred to as a Wurlitzer model 1100 sold in 1948.
The commercial artist who designed it, Paul Fuller, said the design was inspired by the gun turrets on WW2 bombers.
I found mine in a barn near Tuskegee in 1975.

Okay time for some geezer music. Wurlit10
