Your description of the political ideological spectrum is way out of whack and does not reflect the way political scientists have it laid out. You put all the "bad guys" that in your mind include socialist and fascists at one end of your line and the "good guys" i.e. democracies and republics at the other.
It looks as if this would be a more comfortable way to look at things with "US" over at one end and "them" at the other but the model used is quite different.
Democracy is in the middle. It is balanced out between the dictatorship of communism on the far left and the dictatorship of fascism at the extreme right wing of things. This is why we liberals call you "conservatives" right wingers and fascists when we are in that mood and why some of you call us "Comrade" when you think we are getting to far into the socialist or communist end of things.
I put this out here in support of some sort of standardization of terms. It is useful to know what everyone is talking about as much as possible. This is a very common way to show how the left/right/democracy model is set up.
If you wanted to wrap that into a circle then it would be correct... the authoritarians at one pole... the democracies and freedom at the other pole. That's the way out was initially introduced... until progressive revisions.
I doubt if the average person on the street could explain where the terms left and right came from but here's the short answer:
The French Revolutionary era was where the terms Left-wing politics and Right-wing politics first originated. The reason for the terms to become used at all was the seating of the ancien régime of France at that time. The aristocrats sat on the right, and the commoners sat on the left.May 19, 2011

If you think about it, left and right. Well, that indicates two different directions not two positions at the same end of the spectrum as you suggest. How can you look left to one ideology and right to the other if they're both basically in the same direction? Doesn't make sense. Understanding the actual origin of the terms helps people understand what everyone is talking about, that's all. There is no progressive revisionism going on here, just history.

Looking at the lower righthand corner of this graphic it was put together by the Florida GOP. Now that this has been posted I challenge those who brought it up to prove the validity of the claims it makes. Seems only fair. If I post something I give a link or reference of some kind and am willing to stand behind the data. How about you do the same this time? Where did this data originally come from or was it like a Trump Tweet, it just seemed right at the time?
