I think the ref strike was an opportunity for organized crime to get to some of the refs under the guise of incompetency.......from the black sox to Pete Rose betting on baseball.....there is a constant opportunity to make lots of money by breaking the rules......I believe in the iceberg theory when looking at gambling in sports.....we only see 10% of the iceberg.....and the illusion of the commissioners to keep the integrity of the game.......a 10 billion dollar industry is arguing over 2 million dollars with the refs......it does not add up, and I really think they got to some people. The upsets the first three weeks were huge money makers for bettors.
