This is exactly my thought on the issue. You've nailed it, Bob. Whether in sarcasm or not.

The Republicans are tossing their own standards right out the window - baby with the bath water - in order to get a "Republican" into the White House.

All I can think of is the fat bellied preacher crying from the pulpit, "woe, woe, oh woe to all of us."

I don't think Cruz was the man for the job either. But to see everyone throwing him under the bus is quite full of satire.
