England, where top doctors are now predicting that a number of hospitals there are "on the brink of crisis," the BBC is reporting.

That's not politics, that's reality.

According
to the Royal College of Physicians, a trio of issues - rising demand,
increasingly complex cases and falling numbers of hospital beds - is
contributing to the destruction of the healthcare system there.

In
fact, the college's assessment said urgent care was already being
compromised, warning that the situation was going to get worse unless
some real workable solutions were implemented.

As is usually the
case, especially in the U.S. - where messianic faith in the
"government-knows-best" approach is rampant among our entrenched
bureaucracy and many of our elected leaders - British paper-pushers are
tut-tutting the school's assessment, claiming the country's National
Health Service (NHS) can handle any challenge, pending or in the future.

Many have convinced themselves that this whole health care debacle comes down to another government vs capitalism debate.
Yes, government is inefficient we all know that. And yes when capitalism is working well it produces competition which can and does help with solving some of our problems (the Walmart $4 drugs for example).

But the fundamental problem we're experiencing does not come down to government vs capitalism.
It comes down to this. At the same time health care is escalating in cost, our socieities (both here and in Europe) are in economic decline which is resulting in us having less revenue per capita to meet those cost demands.
In other words, health care is costing more at the same time we have less money to pay that cost. That's what we're experiencing.

Good observation and I am sure that's a big part of it not to mention the fact they are poisoning our food and water. These old bodies can take a lot of abuse but at some point putting slop in the gas tank kills it. I can't tell you all the people I know with cancer and other diseases that are probably environment in cause...So let's do as we are told eat our GMO and die and serve AGENDA 21.

you will be happier and feel a greater sense of purpose in your life if you stop looking at results and concentrate instead on intentions. we stand a better chance at happiness collectively than as individuals comrades.

Put on your surprised face....health care is failing in the US, too.

....and now we have Mitt stating the uninsured should go to the emergency room for health care. As PkrBum writes, bad ideas fail. Bad candidates fail, too.
