I wish I could find the video but there was once an episode of 60 minutes or maybe some other prime time news show where they had a 4 year old make a finger painting and then they presented it to several high-brow art dealers in order to see if they would mistake it for some sort of abstract masterpiece.

After the art expert went on and on about how the painting was a masterpiece and contained so much emotion and depth, the host informed him that the painting was actually made by a 4 year old. Camera zooms in on the face of the art expert for full awkwardness.

"Yes, that's right"

"Wait. What do you mean that's right?! You just said that this was a masterpiece"

(walks away) "Turn off those cameras!"

I dunno, Z. I'm very aware that some local appraisers are fulla shit. But I always assumed those high falutin appraisers on Antiques Roadshow knew what they were talking about. I think it's hilarious though. lol

I can tell you this though. If somebody had a monkey drip paint onto a canvas stretched out on the floor. And then a good copy of Jackson Pollock's signature was put on it. I couldn't tell the difference.
