I have been arguing the mining and oil interests have been behind this for ten years where this issue is far from new. They can buy a state to exploit and rape the land, but it gets a lot more difficult to buy a nation. So you create a coalition with the southern strategy and western strategy combined under the natural frustration with loss of control by locals of so much of the west. This debate would be entirely different if copper, coal, oil, and gas executives were sitting under tarps at a bird sanctuary protesting.....but they cleverly have tried to create a western populism...........nobody is fooled by the cowboys or the argument.
