There's a lot of talk going on about a US-led coalition of soldiers to fight ISIS on the ground, wherever they are. Somebody please explain to me why such a coalition has to be US-led -- which also implies US-financed.
Is this a kill-ISIS thing, or an American ego thing?

It's a bad idea for many reasons. I highly doubt first of all that it would work. If we did put together a large force... the jihadists would just scatter like cockroaches into the civilian population and wait out the timeline obama always gives.

It does not have to be US lead, and it should not be. It should be Saudi led. End of story. At least Al Queda was an open enemy.......the Saudis are a hidden enemy posing as our friends.

"The Saudis are a hidden enemy posing as our friends." You're absolutely right on this. They financed 9-11 and the only reason the US stays friendly to them is because of the oil. Take note, we don't need their stinking oil anymore!!

We could start the war on ISIS by bombing the Saudis!!

The wahhabi sect is behind most terrorism behind the scenes and smiling faces toward the west........

The alliance between followers of ibn Abd al-Wahhab and Muhammad bin Saud's successors (the House of Saud) proved to be a rather durable alliance. The house of bin Saud continued to maintain its politico-religious alliance with the Wahhabi sect through the waxing and waning of its own political fortunes over the next 150 years, through to its eventual proclamation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932, and then afterwards, on into modern times. Today Mohammed bin Abd Al-Wahhab's teachings are state-sponsored and are the official form of Sunni Islam in 21st century Saudi Arabia.

Not to concern yourself my Socialist/Communist good friend Wordslinger. NO one is calling for semi-retired President Obama to LEAD a coalition against ISIS. President Obama has made it extremely clear that he can't even utter the word Radical Islamist or Islamic Terrorist. President Obama has also said that he will only lead from behind.

President Obama will continue to play footsie with mass murderers until his time in office runs out.

We then will have a president who will step up to the plate and protect America by destroying ISIS.

President Obama is keeping his promise to the American public who overwhelming voted for him twice.......he did not campaign on the absurd proposition of perpetual war by Americans in the Middle East.....I thought you were paying attention Mr. Markle.....oh I forgot.......you were crying in your wheaties after the President won......twice, and we all know tear soaked wheaties are no way to gain the courage to not be afraid of everything.

You must be kidding... have you NO recollection of the last seven years?

You also neglect to recognize north africa... how's that working out for obama's foreign policies?

Was it all hillary's fault? No? But not Obama's either? No? Oh... I guess there's always bush.

Success really does irritate all those who thought he would not win, nor keep his promises. He did both.

We are not....Our military has been weakened by the loss of our best generals. The US is not leading a damn thing....blowing up small Toyota trucks is not what I would consider a fight.

Russia takes the lead....

"Remember when the US had a President who took the lead in the war on terror?

Russia has carried out a series of deadly airstrikes against the terrorist group and Vladimir Putin has now sent the country’s most elite special forces team into the war zone.

And speculation is heightening that offensive will be bolstered by the China’s People’s Liberation Army, following a number of reports of military movements in the region backed up by strong words from a senior government member at a United Nations meeting.

Reports emanating from the Middle East last week said China was planning on joining the fight against ISIS “in the coming weeks”, according to a Syrian army official.china army

While Beijing insists it will abide by the United Nations (UN) in the region, hints of an action were backed up when it spoke strongly about a coordinated response to the rising terrorist threat.

Speaking of the Syrian crisis China’s foreign minister Wang Yi said at the UN Security Council session in New York: “The world cannot afford to stand by and look on with folded arms, but must also not arbitrarily interfere.”

He added that nations should stand united against “violent extremist ideology”.

Mr Wang and his opposite number in Russia, Sergey Lavrov met at length last week and afterwards Mr Lavrov said the two countries are in “similar positions” on many domestic and international issues.

China has also shown solidarity with Syria, joining Russia in vetoeing UN proposals against Bashar al-Assad, which are likely to prevent him being referred by the council to the International Criminal Court.

The latest actions at the UN conference have come amid reports, citing key military sources, Chinese warships have made their way to Syrian shores through the Suez Canal.

It was said China’s J-15 warplanes would launch from an aircraft carrier for attacks on ISIS.

Russian media followed that up by quoting Igor Morozov, a member of the Russian Federation Committee on International Affairs, confirming Chinese aircraft carrier, Lianoning, and a guided missile cruiser were heading to the area, and adding Chinese military advisers were already in the region.

Mr Morozov said: “It is known that China has joined our military operation in Syria.

“The Chinese cruiser has already entered the Mediterranean, followed by its aircraft carrier.”

These reports have not been verified by China and satellite images show the Syrian port of Tartus, currently empty.

However, China come under threat from ISIS in recent months increasing the theory an attack is in the pipeline.". ...Via: Express UK

And, as you know, as little as a year after his re-election, most voters would NOT have voted for him in 2012.

Yes, I was greatly disappointed when people voted for a novelty rather than a President in 2008 and 2012. I knew, and all Conservatives knew it would lead to where we are today. A disaster in World affairs and economic malaise. A term last used during the failed Carter administration.

Even if we accept your bullshit, the facts are, Obama is considerably more favored at the end of his term than Dubya was!!

A disaster in World affairs and economic malaise.

The United States has brought sanity to the world. Diplomacy is reigning and military adventurism is finally being reeled back. The economy driven into the ditch with the same foolish policy of not paying for two wars while cutting taxes only to have it pulled out of the ditch by President Obama. In any measure our world is safer because of the wisdom of President Obama......and you just whining about the world......sorry, more whining to come.

As you well know, this is not the end of the semi-retired President Obama's term.

More importantly, President Obama has the majority of the Media protecting him every step of the way. They are merely an extension of the Obama press office.

Obvious too, President Obama will be handing over a country in far, far worse condition that what he received. Yes, the economy was worse but President Obama has done nothing to help the economy other than put millions more on welfare, millions more not even looking for a job and a pathetic GDP.

Economically and internationally, America is better off under Obama than it was at the end of Bush's second term. Fewer Americans are in a shooting war, and our war costs are down. That's a plus, for sure. Unemployment is down. There are millions of Americans who now have medical insurance who didn't under Dubya.

Reality.

This is in SPITE of anything and everything semi-retired President Obama could do?

Do you deny that President Obama stated that HIS POLICIES would NECESSARILY CAUSE ENERGY PRICES TO SKYROCKET?

Do you deny that President Obama stated that he was fine with $4.00 per gallon gasoline but he preferred it go up slowly.

As you well know, the vast increase in oil production has been due to fracking in North Dakota.

Amusing isn't it? The ONE THING good for America was the very LAST thing President Obama wanted to happen? He had HOPED that rising energy and gas prices would force people to use alternative energy. Instead, the gas guzzlers are top sellers again.

I've even been driving my '66 Goat much more than usual. I do love to let it idle next to a hybrid or better yet a "smart car". I can just see them seething as the 500+ hp totally refurbished engine with three carburetors, high performance dual exhausts...ahhhh...life is good.

There you have it folks: a very old man with a very small penis gets his kicks idling his noisy hot-rod (memories of the youth that left him long, long ago), next to a modern, economically and environmentally much improved vehicle. Hey curmudgeon, try some of those penis enlarging pills, and leave your gas guzzling, noisy, exhaust belching monster where it belongs -- when you stop at a light next to a Prius, that driver is indeed seething, at your inconsiderate and child-like actions and conduct. Reality!

Those hybrid obamamobile drivers are traitors.   They don't give a shit about the welfare of the Saudi Royal Family.
They drive those little Obamamobiles and don't even think about the poor Saudis when it might mean a Saudi prince will have to downsize from a private jumbo jet down to a private corporate jet because fucking traitors are saving money on gas.  The sorry selfish obamafied bastards.
