Yeti is behind the whole failed school lunch program. Make the fat kids eat less. Not all kids.

"I could not be more passionate about this," Pam Harris, the Mukwonago district food service supervisor and a registered dietitian, told the Journal Sentinel. "I want to solve this problem. But limiting calories in school lunch is not going to help the overweight kid. What happens at home is a major piece of that puzzle."

The first lady said....the biggest national security problem facing the United States...obese children.....Maybe they need to redistribute weight too...

Obesity is a huge threat to our nation......it will drain our coffers in the next 50 years. I have a friend who is so proud of their son who has just lost 150lbs. The family is celebrating his success, but it was not easy, and it took 15 years of poor diet to bring him to the brink. I get nervous when government starts telling me what I can drink or eat. However, we have a long tradition of taxing those things which harm our society.....Liquor gets taxed........tobacco products get taxed...........and maybe we should have nutrition choices at school lunch programs, and maybe somebody on welfare should be restricted from buying junk food, and maybe I should pay more for my bag of fritos.......but this is going to be so riff with special interests fighting this......it took 40 years to finally lower smoking rates......it will take at least that long for nutrition policy not dominated by subsidy and special interests fighting every step of the way.

well if everybody has free gov healthcare and being fat is going to cause us to go broke causing us to have a national security risk. We need to tell people what to eat. I sugest we go in thier houses and make sure they are not storing food. Or better yet, maybe the gov could give out a limited amount of certain foods for each person so they cant over eat or have fatty and surgery things.

i guess i'll slip into progressive mode... i mean, who doesn't enjoy thinking their smart enough to make decisions for the masses? we need mandatory gym memberships and nutritional requirements that are enforced via vouchers. to be blunt... preparing or eating in the home is ripe for abuse. i propose govt run cafeterias and i want the irs (they have big guns now) to enforce fat mandates as tax penalties and prison terms.

ok... i have to admit i feel a bit superior after that.

after all that I think they need to provide us with free pedicure and manicures as well. Its proven that clean and neat nails promotes good health.

And since stress is a known killer, a private massage needs to be provided once a day for one hour sessions.

ok comrade... but butt wiping is an issue (lol... no tissue)... there are some among us that do not or are not able to wipe properly. should we allow people to stink in this day and age? aren't we evolved to the point that we should all smell the same? i propose that we either limit toilet paper squares per "event" or use existing odor technology to determine requirements related to post "event" emmisions... to also include courtisy flushes if in public institutions.

This is a civilized progressive country, we must all have bidet's.

And comrad, we need to insure that people sleep well, because lack of sleep can cause depression and other types of mental disorders that will not fit in our perfect society so we will all need Magnetic Floating Bed – $1.6 million

If you spent any time in a grocery store and saw just what people buy with their EBT cards, you would be horrified. Cases of soda, chips, cookies, birthday cakes, deli foods, steaks, seafood, candy, candy and more candy.

You can usually tell who has EBT and who has WIC checks by what is in their cart. At least those WIC checks are very specific about what foods can be purchased for children. With the food stamp cards, people can buy just about anything, including cocktail mixes.

EBT cards should be used for bread, milk, and cheese. Nothing more. These effing people buy bottled water with them then dump the water out and return the bottles for the refund to buy beer, cigarettes, and lotto scratchers. In HI, NY, CA, and MA only.

I say every American can buy what they want, but if a product is introduced into the stream of commerce which causes costs which are not recouped then we are subsidizing those products. If tobacco kill 50k a year and cost 300 billion in health care costs is it wrong to tax those products and recoup some of the societal costs for the same.

If a dump truck runs 50k lbs overweight, is it going to destroy our roads, and should we tax that truck based on weight and license? At what point do we say no to a truck or put real restrictions which limit the size of trucks and the weight of loads......you know that socialism really sticks their nose in all the wrong places. Grownups need to run government. Let the children go play in the backyard......and grownups are going to weigh societal costs, risks, and burdens, and policy will follow. Where is the argument that limits on truck loads is socialism......because having had to deal with overweights.....I think society does have a role in keeping the dollars and sense in line with the products and methods of commerce, and that will require some review of nutrition, and limits.
