I always thought that anybody who had enough gumption to be able to post to something like this was a cut above.  This must be the evidence of it.  lol

You're pointing out how everyone's opinion is purely anecdotal, but you're not giving us anything to show what your opinion - which you apparently deem to be more accurate that anyone else's - is based on.

What is your opinion of millennials based on?

Here is some reading for you while you think about that.

When the millennials reach the levers of power, they are going to straighten out a lot of what we boomers helped screw-up. They really are an awesome and under-appreciated (and underestimated) bunch.

I also have a millennial child who turned 30 last week.

I agree.

cheers  I have millennial children and they are all doing fine. No boomerangsense except they love to store stuff here.

Fox Business host Neil Cavuto engaged a scholar in earnest Socratic dialogue Thursday.

Keely Mullen is a national organizer for #MillionStudentMarch, a movement that demands “tuition-free public college, cancellation of all student debt, and a $15 minimum wage for all campus workers” in response to the crisis caused by rapacious corporate education.

“#MillionStudentMarch is a movement for a more equitable and fair system of education as opposed to the really corporate model we have right now,” Mullen said.

Mullen is a graduate of the prestigious Francis W. Parker School and political science student at Northeastern University, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Cavuto asked how #MillionStudentMarch’s agenda would be financed.

“Great question, I mean, you know, so—I’m not sure if you’re talking about a national level or per school?” Mullen said.

When pressed, Mullen said that the top one percent of earners needed to pay tax rates upwards of 90 percent, a rate 10 percentage points higher than that proposed by socialist Thomas Piketty. Mullen said it was worth it.

“I live in a world and I see a system around me where there is a population that is doing nothing to contribute to the progression of society,” Mullen said, referring to the freeloaders at the top who pay more in taxes than the bottom 90 percent of earners combined.

When Cavuto pointed out that even a 100 percent tax on the top one percent of income earners would be insufficient to fund Medicare for three years, much less free college tuition and a $15 minimum wage, Mullen delivered a devastating rebuttal.

“Yeah, I don’t believe that,” Mullen said.

You and Wordslinger both need to actually watch some news. This is happening on campuses all across the country. What age group is whining for a minimum wage of $15.00 an hour to put a tomato on a bun?

My opinion is anecdotal as well.  Based on people I know.  I believe everyone is telling the truth.  But I'm also telling the truth.

Plus I was already doing capitalism on the side.  And Marxism didn't make me any money.

My first job where I was paid on the books was bagging groceries.  Minimum wage for us was $0.85 per hour plus tips.  We made $4.00 to $5.00 in tips per hour plus a lot more during holidays.  The UNION negotiated a new contract which re-labeled us (bagboys) as utility clerks at $1.15 per hour BUT then they could use us anywhere in the store where we did not get TIPS.  So we ended up making less plus paying union dues.

That's when I said WTF about unions.

You quote some whacked-out college kid with a weird, ridiculous complaint or protest, as though that idiot represents ALL college students.  Of course, that's because of your challenged IQ.  Ditto for your empirical experience as a teenaged grocery bagger who suffered under a union.  I worked for a company that had terrible, unsafe working conditions, made you work overtime without any extra pay, and two organizers moved us in the right direction.  Two years later all employees got overtime pay, and the unsafe working conditions were eliminated.  That's when I said "hooraay" for unions!

Your problem Markle, is not recognizing that some unions and their efforts are good, and some are bad.  Just like white people.

You've not watched the news for some time now have you?

How many decades ago were you working for a union?

Television Branch, Writer's Guild West, and proud to be a member.

Wow...I am, indeed, impressed!  What, about 20,000 partial members...worldwide.  What do you do, get together and duel with quill pens?

Do you actually pay to belong?

I agree.  But it's a shame you don't include yourself in that.  Only all the rest of us.  lol
