You see all that wind we're experiencing today?

That wind is being produced by the remnants of a hurricane which made landfall 1500 miles from Pensacola.  And not only that,  but the same hurricane was almost knocked dead by the mountains of Mexico right after it made landfall.
But it is STILL able to make this wind here today.

Moral to this story:  If you think what you're experiencing today is high wind,  you aint seen nothing until a category 5 hurricane is coming here for a direct hit.  If that happens,  get outta Dodge.

On the other hand,  if a tropical storm or weak hurricane is headed for us here,  you'll see the media (especially the Weather Channel) go to defcon 1 and tell you the end of the world is about to happen.
Don't pay any attention to that.
If you don't live on the waterfront and don't live in a trailer,  you don't really need to leave town for anything less than a category 3 hurricane.  You'll be fine.

the mets on storm2k are calling this a sub topical storm, I know words, this was a ts. Trees down in Warrington and downtown. I drove over the bridge this morning and back this afternoon and I drove through hurricane Danny over the causeway and the winds felt the same. Hell there were waves in Bayou Texas coming over that bridge.

Not sure about any of the messages except the last one.  He doesn't approve of that because he doesn't believe weather forecasting is legitimate.  Says donkeys with dartboards are just as reliable.
