http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/10/22/hillary-clintons-benghazi-testimony-is-over-looks-like-kevin-mccarthy-told-truth.html

At about 9:10 pm on Thursday night, over 11 hours after Secretary Clinton began her testimony before the Benghazi Select Committee, the chairman, Trey Gowdy, was asked whether he had learned anything new from Secretary Clinton during those 11 hours of testimony.

He paused. He hesitated. And then he said, something like -- actually I don't know she said anything new -- we already knew what she testified to tonight.

Seriously?

There's your verdict -- nothing new.

All Americans should ask Mr. Gowdy the following question: What has been achieved after spending $4.7 million of taxpayers money?

The committee's focus was just as House Republican Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy described it when he said: this was all about trying to tear down Hillary Clinton politically, to weaken her as a presidential candidate -- not about learning something new about what happened at Benghazi and why.

All Americans should ask Mr. Gowdy the following three questions:

1. What has been achieved after spending $4.7 million of taxpayers money?

2. Why did you keep Secretary Clinton on the witness stand for 11 hours and yet admit you learned nothing new from her?

3. Why did your committee exist in the first place? You claim you discovered Hillary Clinton's emails and private server. But you did not, you could not, cite a single email that helped tell us more about the tragedy of Benghazi?

You never explained why your committee is better or contributed anything new compared to the House Republican Intelligence and Armed Services  committees -- both of which produced significant reports concluding that there was no intelligence failure prior to Benghazi, no political manipulation of the so-called talking points, no stand down order.

Whether you are a Republican or Democrat, liberal or conservative, we all should be able to agree that this committee was nothing more nor less than naked politics to damage Hillary Clinton politically.

If there was ever any doubt that Kevin McCarthy spoke the truth, the questioning done by most of the Republicans on the committee during this long ordeal Thursday is the final proof.

I know many of you reading this piece on the Fox News website do not support Hillary Clinton and I respect that. But I tell you with 100 percent sincerity that if a Republican Secretary of State had ever been treated this way by a Democratic congressional committee, I would be ashamed as a Democrat. And would say so.

Thank goodness it's over.

Now all of us – Republicans and Democrats, liberals and conservatives -- should get back to debating the issues, allowing the American people to choose who should be the best president to face the great challenges at home and abroad.

There are many important issues that can be debated and there is merit on both sides.

But the travesty of using this committee to engage in the politics of personal construction and to exploit the death of four Americans politically demeans our politics. It should make us ashamed.

I wonder whether any of the Republicans on the committee have any idea how badly this day went for them and how bad it is for America.

Maybe some day they will.

Now let's how we can get back to the real issues the American people care about.

This was truly a waste of tax payer dollar's and a complete waste of time. I don't remember anyone going after Bush for the embassy attacks, Bill Clinton or your great Pres. Reagan for embassy attacks.

Acts of war/casualty's of war what ever you want to call it. The only reason it was different this time is a U.S. Ambassador was killed.

Keep in mind you war monger's that no one has ever gone after a President for the young men and women that have been murdered in wars.

Shit happens when you think you can rule the world.

The red cross and uk evacuated because in increasing chaos. Over 600 requests for additional security forces.

What was hillary's state dept response? Cut security. She was either naive, incompetent, or politically blinded.

Which do you choose to go with?

Yes, it was a dangerous place.

Yes, there was a security failure.

She was very articulate in explaining these things yesterday.

Did you watch it?

And, she certainly didn't appear "naive, incompetent, or politically blinded" while she clunked together the skulls of the imbeciles on the committee like coconuts for 11 hours.

Did you watch any of the hearing yesterday? Because I did and these concerns were addressed...repeatedly...for 11 hours.

No minds changed on either side by hearing. Republicans win on FACTS, Democrats on THEATRICS.

Hillary had been made up by Hollywood makeup artists and started out looking fantastic. By the end of the hearings, the pancake makeup was cracking and the hair was looking frazzled. Not surprising, it had been a long day. The coughing fit added just the right of suffering for the poor victim. Her supporters must have wept in anguish for their messiah.

Hillary yukked it up during the hearings with her most faked of laughs. She even got in a plug for her book and another book...I believe. Sort of like she was being interviewed on a Ms. Universe pageant.

It was also a time for her to steadfastly confirm that LIES are just part of everyday business in the Democrat Party. So much so, they don't even notice when they fly by.

For the Republicans, it was a fantastic victory in the facts and the smoking gun. Days after the murders, Hillary spoke privately with the loved ones of the terrorist attack in Benghazi and promised them that the film maker who had caused this tragedy would be put in jail and punished.

At the same time, it now shows up in emails that she was lying and knew she was lying. Within an hour of the attack she had emailed Chelsea (her daughter) that already two had been killed by an "al-Qaeda" like attack on the embassy.

This lie went on for weeks until it was no longer deniable by the White House or Hillary Clinton that it was not a film, but a coordinated, well planned terrorist attack.

With the election only six weeks away, after President Obama's promises that al-Qaeda was on their heels and on the run, he refused to allow this to come out as a terrorist attack, killing an Ambassador on US soil. Susan Rice was given the job of lying on FIVE Sunday shows in a row. They must have films of her with a donkey in Mexico for her to take all this and keep on running.

Then there was Hillary's cliche line, "it not my yob" from TV sitcom "Chico and the Man" overseeing security. Well...if that WAS the case, after 600 requests for additional security were received.

So if the responsibility was with others, (I think she learned that from semi-retired President Obama. Everyone else was responsible for anything negative happened. When she was asked who was fired...she was at a loss for words.

As I said, the Democrats won the theatrics and Republicans won the facts. Since THEATRICS, and NOT FACTS matter to Democrats, it's how they feel wins every time; and FACTS NOT THEATRICS that are relevant to Republicans, I see it as a win and loss for both sides.
