The U.S. oil and gas industry calls this the Big Crew Change. It turns out that 71% of professionals in the industry are 50 or more years old, with the average age (in 2012) being 60. 50% of these people will be retiring in the next 10 years. The industry is having to target younger demographics to replace these workers and is adjusting hiring accordingly.
