Granny with an attitude? Or excessive police state?

That lady was in the wrong.

If I had been the cop, I probably would have waited for backup to arrive and maybe the lady would have seen that this wasn't going to go her way... after having some time to think about it... and would have cooperated.

The cop was within his rights to do what he did and I don't think he roughed her up, but it might have turned out better for all involved if he had shown more patience and restraint. Hindsight is perfect.
