Obama Regime Declares War on Suburbs : Obama making bid to diversify wealthy neighborhoods

The Hill reports:
The Obama administration is moving forward with regulations designed to help diversify America’s wealthier neighborhoods, drawing fire from critics who decry the proposal as executive overreach in search of an “unrealistic utopia.”

A final Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) rule due out this month is aimed at ending decades of deep-rooted segregation around the country.

The regulations would use grant money as an incentive for communities to build affordable housing in more affluent areas while also taking steps to upgrade poorer areas with better schools, parks, libraries, grocery stores and transportation routes as part of a gentrification of those communities.

“HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all,” a HUD spokeswoman said. “The proposed policy seeks to break down barriers to access to opportunity in communities supported by HUD funds.”

The Obama regime wants to bring Section 8 housing to all neighborhoods ... in the name of "equality".

If you Google the statement above, you get this:

Oodles and boodles of wingnut blogs, but no reliable news sources....

And semi-demented poster Markle likes to pick on liberals for posting links to partisan information sources.....

Imagine the cost of property in those areas.

The working middle class certainly couldn't afford it... but will be forced to pay for it.

Yea Team..!!

A question for the republicans reading this: Now that you have read this article, what is it that you think this HUD policy actually does - specifically?

Just trying to determine if any of you can actually read.

Because it's not as if HUD has been in the grant business for the last 40 years or anything. That's kinda what they do.

Sure, they do such an effective job handing out money for little effect that what they need is even MORE money to waste...

This is a little old but still pertinent:

taken from an article in the Washington Post

"U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has supported roughly 700 affordable housing projects around the country that have never been completed, some stalling out for over a decade.
A Washington Post investigation reveals that over $400 million has been handed to developers to create affordable housing with no payoff, and with little HUD oversight to track the failures

Debbie Cenziper and Jonathan Mummolo at the Post write:

"The yearlong investigation uncovered a dysfunctional system that delivers billions of dollars to local housing agencies with few rules, safeguards or even a reliable way to track projects. The lapses have led to widespread misspending and delays in a two-decade-old program meant to deliver decent housing to the working poor."

The Post also features a slideshow of failed developments around the country.

We are a better country when we spend our time arguing over the effectiveness of $400 million invested in domestic community development projects.   Much better than when we spend our time arguing over the effectiveness of $1-2 trillion and thousands of lives spent on Iraq.

And over the next 5-6 years, I hope that this forum spends most of its time arguing over the effectiveness of these type of community development projects rather than the effectiveness of the $2+ trillion that may be spent in Iran.

Pointing out the arrogance of this semi-retired President Obama in being the supreme ruler right down to your choice of neighborhoods in which to live. MORE regulations, higher price.
