Maybe if they spent their time getting an education (of which it is free for them for the most part) and then worked on getting a job and staying employed they wouldn't be in jail. It's called a CHOICE.

The list starts off with why a higher % of AAs are jailed, but then goes on to other issues of who is jailed: the poor, the mentally ill, the uneducated, tougher drug laws, the dollars generated by the legal system...

It became clearer that the real reason so many AAs are in jail is that some or many of the AAs possess some, or a lot of these qualities: poverty, uneducated, drug user, mentally ill.  I'm sure there's a study showing that you're unlikely to be arrested if you are Black, educated, not poor, not mentally ill, and not a drug user.

So the answer to staying out of jail seems to be: get an education, don't do drugs, don't be poor or mentally ill. And that should work for AAs as well as other races.

I've read that in minority neighborhoods the unemployment rate, even for black high school graduates is above 26%.

Gee...lets ponder that issue. Why are jails full of black and poor people?

Duhhhh...it COULD be that they, and their parents, made bad choices and are criminals. Just sayin'.

"You've read". Well, that certainly is a reliable source.

Just for giggles, please show us your source and a reliable link.
