I thought our main enemy was the world’s Muslims?

Actually, the greatest gift to the Chinese was our invasion of Iraq. It made us waste 1.5 trillion, become bogged down fighting an insurgency, using money we had to borrow from them (the Chinese). Meanwhile, the Chinese delighted in our dilemma, and commenced building their military of the future that would one day be able to challenge the United States of America. It’s here now.

The islands they are militarizing are in areas of dispute with some of our important economic allies. Their aggressive moves are going to be countered. It's already begun.

Nobody is going to fight over those islands.

Something has to happen before China would go to war with us.

That would be whenever China no longer needs the U.S. market to absorb all that junk it makes.
That day will happen.  Because as America keeps declining and Asia is advancing,  at some point the rest of the world outside the U.S. will be plenty enough market for China's exports.

Yeah you purposely militarize and fortify specks of islands for no reason huh? China will do so obviously. It's like when we committed "x" amount of troops to the Middle East twice..... There was no way we weren't going to finish the game bro lol.... You are naive

Or it is day that when we have more debt than can ever be repaid to them and decide that writing it off and wiping the slate clean making the yuan that standard currency is a better alternative than listening to our government continue to lie about repaying it. Unless a deal can be struck to just cede them the Left Coast and then call it a day.

Here is another red herring.... That stuff in the South China Sea is nothing. The Chinese are simply following the U.S. model of power projection. Our military is everywhere, so why can't they push theirs out a little?

I know, American exceptionalism gives us the right to militarily dominate the world! Except, we really can't afford to do that any more (we don't have the money for it now).

What we really need to worry about is where China will build its first overseas bases; again, following the U.S. model.

I predict the first will go into the Horn of Africa; likely a place like the South Sudan. That area of Africa holds 72 billion barrels of recoverable crude, and the Chinese are actively pursuing development of that resource and will want to protect their supply from that region.

If the U.S. keeps threatening Venezuela, that country could be China's foothold in the Americas. They buy large quantities of Venezuelan oil, and will want to protect their supply source there-notwithstanding, Venezuela still holds incredible amounts of crude oil. A base in Venezuela would allow them to also protect the alternate canal-crossing they are considering building through Nicaragua. Their base in Venezuela would also allow them to thumb their noses at the Big Gringos to the north. I am sure the Venezuelans would accept Chinese protection from those pesky Norte Americanos who used to threaten their late President Chavez.

They don't need a base in Iraq--they pulled a coup in financing the hair-brained American invasion of that country, which weakened America, stirred additional Muslim rage against our country, while securing the Chinese oil supply from Iraq (China now buys 50% of Iraq's oil production).

Will America ever learn from its foreign policy mistakes? Doubtful; especially if we elect one of the GOP contenders in 2016. They all have their pants in a wad about continuing U.S. military engagement abroad.

Nah, we don't militarize specks of nothing Z. It's exactly what China is doing.

I do know that Australia is scared spitless of the Chinese. The Aussies are balls to the wall revitalizing their military at breakneck speed for a country with as small a population as theirs.

Australia is a large land-mass, with a small population, and China is close, and overpopulated. The island-continent would be a great place to takeover and settle a few hundred million Chinese. They won't make a go for Australia before they re-annex Taiwan, and that may be their first opportunity since 1953 to test their mettle against the U.S. military.

Of course, it is incumbent on our politicians to not let any of this ever happen.
