Over 300 republicans call on Supreme Court to recognize gay marriage

The more we learn about biology, the more and more it appears that sexuality is not a choice.  Years from now, we'll look back at today's homophobic people the same way that we look at racists from generations ago.

Unfortunately, however, today's homophobes will be able to hide and claim that they were never against gay marriage.  Give it 10 years and you won't find anyone who will be willing to admit - publicly, that is - that they were ever against this.  The KarlRoves, Markles, and DamagedEagles will all proudly say that they were on the right side of that issue, just like racist assholes do today with racism.

In reality attitudes toward homosexuality have changed drastically rather quickly. Growing up, homosexuality was still seen as deviant by many, but young people today are much more accepting; they now ridicule homophobia. I am optimistic, because, in all cases, eventually, progressive ideas are adopted as the norm.
