UPDATE:
A Crestivew man is in jail this morning.. accused of shaking a three month old baby so hard the child's brain began to bleed.

The little girl is in critical condition this morning.
Okaloosa County deputies say David Fowler admitted to shaking the child because it "wouldn't stop crying" and was "spoiled by its mother"

Deputes say the child's mother brought it to the hospital claiming she'd dropped the child on it's head.

Doctors found bleeding on the child's brain *and evidence of previous trauma.

The infant was then flown to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
Fowler is now charged with aggravated child abuse and felony battery.

ORIGINAL:
A three month old is in critical condition, and a Crestview man is in jail facing multiple charges of child abuse.

Last night, the mother of the infant brought the child to North Okaloosa Medical Center.

Doctors determined the child's injuries were consistent with abuse.
The mother initially claimed that she had accidentally dropped the child on her head.

But physicians believed there was more to that story.
The child had multiple bruises on her head and neck.

Doctors ordered a CT scan, and found that she was bleeding internally.
They also recognized signs of previous trauma, still in the healing stages.

That's when the child was taken by helicopter to Sacred Heart in Pensacola.

After the diagnosis, the woman's boyfriend,  25 year old David Joshua Fowler showed up at the hospital to comfort the mother.

Okaloosa county investigators began questioning him.
Fowler admitted shaking the child saying the baby was spoiled by her mother and would not stop crying.

He told them the child then began to vomit and went limp.
But Fowler did not call 9-1-1.
He called the child's mother at work, and told her the child was injured.

She picked up the baby and took her to the hospital.

Fowler also admitted to shaking the child three days earlier on January 25th.
Fowler has been charged with felony battery and aggravated child abuse.

He's still in jail.

An admission of shaking a baby works for me.....accusing someone of the same is an entire other animal where no confirmation or admission has been given. Speculation which may or may not be correct.

They knew the story originally given did not fit the injuries.
