Dumbdedumbdedumb......look at your cell phone agreement or your cable tv agreement and read about that thing called an arbitration clause.....the parties in a civil matter can pick their arbitrators......in civil cases if two parties decide to have a Sharia arbitration.......that is called freedom and right to freely contract. You need to do more reading.

This doesn't sound so bad if it is about a delivery of produce to a store or something like that but listing divorce as something this tribunal might decide gives me pause. Given their less than stellar reputation of respecting women's rights...

My mother in law could not go to mass for years because she got divorced in the fifties. She had to work through the church to have the divorce recognized by the church and allowing her to attend mass again. Jews also follow civil law, but have a separate "get" process done within the structure of their religion. It is hardly unusual for Muslims to have their religious mechanisms reviewing divorces, and they are like the jews who do not deny the authority of the land they live and the civil courts, but require additional religious .steps.

It sounds harmless so long as no U.S. or state laws are violated during the process.

No, how about we put an end to their practice of Sharia? LT, who saved the Muslims in Bosnia back in the 90s when all other groups were trying to do exactly what you are saying? The United States. WE have ONE LAW of the land, not various laws for ethnicities inside their enclaves spread throughout the US.

Karl Rove does have a point. Religions are dangerous and fundamentalists of any stripe should be stoned to death, or burned in a cage, or skinned alive, or boiled slowly, or forced to endure listening for hours to excerpts from Sarah Palin speeches.
