Paris is the gauntlet thrown down. If the West doesn't answer and answer hard, we might as well start reading the Quran and have out spouses put on a hijab/burka.

There will be more attacks, and being terrorized is exactly the goal. Get a night lite and quit worrying. We need to be vigilant and we need to be strong, and this scardy cat stuff needs to be in our rear view mirror. Modernity is what they fear, and they can do nothing to stop it from permeating their culture and their children........they have already lost.

Oh I ain't worried for myself. I do think a proportional response needs to be made. We either fight this now and hard or we just all convert. I'm for fighting it even in our streets and it may come to that. I just hope the authorities stay out of the way of Rick and Bubba when they go to get retribution. Islam respects one thing- firepower.

This week, the war with the jihadists ratcheted up. And much of the media reacted in fear. The Associated Press quickly removed all content from its website featuring pictures of Hebdo’s pages. It is safe to expect the managers and owners of other publishing companies and the news media to follow suit. But that is the wrong reaction.

Al Qaeda, ISIS, and any number of other groups continue their war against the West, but there is not a trained team of assassins from al Qaeda lurking in every parking lot. The French are right. It was a unique attack. The proper response to the challenge of transnational terrorism is to increase domestic security and information sharing among governments about citizens traveling to Syria and Iraq. Europe’s open borders require a security infrastructure to match

Yes, if we've learned nothing else from the past 13 plus years, it's that getting hysterical in the face of terrorism is the best possible way to preserve our freedoms. [sarc]

If we've learned nothing it is that the only response worth giving to these morons is a laser guided munition and to just make a cratered landscape of where they live.

Pacedog's only answer to Jihadist terrorism is to destroy as many Muslims as possible, using our superior technology and weaponry.

Fact: ISIL and al Qaida and other Islamic terrorists knew before the last decade began -- from before 9-11 till now -- that they could not defeat us on the battlefield due to our military superiority. We change absolutely nothing by proving we can kill better than anyone -- they know that. Thus far our only foreign policy and military strategy is based on a platform of superior military capability. And that strategy has failed to inhibit rabid, martyr-led suicide attacks -- from 9-11 until now.

There must be a better way to use our blood and dollars. When are we going to apply intelligence to this war, instead of military supremacy?

As things stand, using the foreign policies and military tactics we've been using the last 40 years, the mad, rabid terrorist warfare brought on by Islamic jihadists will continue.

We need to attack the philosophy and policies that provide such a steady supply of want-to-be martyrs.

Reality.
