If you look under the surface, all the riots and protests taking place right now in Amerika Inc., have the same overriding cause:
Racism is a symptom, not the disease -- ditto for police brutality.
It's what's happened to all of us since 9-11.
In it's maddening zeal to target legitimate terrorists, our government has transitioned somehow so that it no longer represent our safety, but only it's own.
We've gone from being citizens our government and it's agencies were supposed to serve and protect, to being suspects. Hell, if THEY trusted us would they be putting you through the third degree everytime you try to board an airplane? The Israelis have the best record of any country in the world for preventing air travel terroism -- and they don't search everyone the way we do.
If they trusted us, would they have to listen to all our phone conversations, and record every keystroke when we use a computer?
If they trusted us would they need to arm every police department with armored vehicles, combat gear and heavy automatic weapons?
The militarization of police forces that reinforces that they aren't us, is the first step in a national police force.
And we are a hairsbreadth from being required to carry current "papers" or ID.
Our elected President has the right to have us arrested, tortured and even killed without any "legal" oversight -- all THEY have to do is claim the deed was done in the "interest of National Security."
Of course we don't trust a cop carrying a machinegun, wearing combat gear, body armor, a military helmet with a face shield and a balaclava mask.
Maybe most of us can't vocalize what we feel, but we feel it.
Our economy sucks.
Our educational standards and costs suck.
Our healthcare quality and costs suck.
And while there's no budget for improvements in any of these areas, check out the continually accelerated budgets for Der Homeland Security folks, the NSA, CIA, FBI and all these secret collect intelligence on everyone agencies.
We have decrepit bridges, roads, tunnels, sewer and water systems, but there's no budget and no will to fix them. But they keep adding thousands of Federal employees to spy on us. And to hell with the costs, many of which are kept secret even from congress.
You trust the President? I don't.
You trust 95% of those elected to congress? I don't.
You trust the Supreme Court? I don't.
You trust candidates running to win a place at the get-rich trough? I don't.
Under these conditions, for which there is no light at the end of a tunnel for any of us, is there any wonder why there is open conflict between we the people and THEM?
