Yet when there is talk about returning corporate rates to what they used to be..........silence...........by golly this country is going to possibly all but eliminate the budget deficit by fiscal 2017 to complete what is obvious to voters in 2016.......some people actually care about how a government operates efficiently and have the skills to do the same.

Just imagine how bad it will look for republicans if we return to surplus or at least very close by 2017?  We will have dug ourselves out of the worst economy since the great depression while simultaneously digging out of one of (if not the) worst budget situations in the history of this country.  And all of this will adding over 10 million jobs (assuming the trend of the last 6 years continues).   That would be nothing short of miraculous.

Generally when the economy looks good, the budget looks good, the labor market looks good, and we're generally firing on all cylinders, voters tend to place low levels of importance on these factors and social issues rise as the primary vote drivers.  In the past, this favored republicans (2000 election).  They could bang the homophobia drum, abortion, war on drugs, etc etc...

But today, republicans are no longer on the right side of those issues.  Republicans are wrong on all of the above.  They know this, so this is why they are playing the last strategy in the bag:  give up on winning in the world of ideas and instead gerrymander and disenfranchise.  Accept unlimited amounts of dark money and distort distort distort.  These tactics only work on the lowest common denominator of society, and we can see proof of that here on this forum.  Not one republican on this site can coherently communicate a substantive point on anything.
