Quietly unleashes cache of federal dollars under auspices of 'gun violence'

On Sept. 22, Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia M. Burwell announced $99 million in new federal grants to school districts for mental health services. The money will be used “to train new mental health providers, help teachers and others recognize mental health issues in youth and connect them to help and increase access to mental health services for young people.”

This would make Hitler Blush...LOL

Public schools, which have increasingly taken on aspects of psychiatric clinics in recent years, will get infused with more than $150 million in federal grants to further this agenda under the auspices of Obama’s 2013 executive action titled “Now is the Time to Do Something About Gun Violence.”

Obama took the action following the Sandy Hook, Connecticut, school shooting, putting Vice President Joe Biden in charge of a task force on “gun violence.”

These are the goals that came out of Biden’s task force:

• Strengthen the background check system for gun sales
• Require background checks for all gun sales
• Pass a new, stronger ban on assault weapons
• Limit ammunition magazines to 10 rounds
• Finish the job of getting armor-piercing bullets off the streets
• Give law enforcement additional tools to prevent and prosecute gun crime
• End the freeze on gun violence research
• Make our schools safer with new resource officers and counselors, better emergency response plans and more nurturing school climates
• Ensure quality coverage of mental health treatment, particularly for young people.

I wonder how long it will be before eugenics makes a comeback?

Oh it never actually left. The mentally ill as judged by the state were the first Hitler exterminated following the American model of eugenics practiced by Margret Sanger wasn't it ? Our doctors have fed radiation to orphans and given syphilis to black people just to see what happened...I am sure they are blissfully killing us all in one way or another...

Yeah Margret Sanger of planned parenthood, the business  that Bill Gates father used to run....

Is there something wrong w/ this, Teo? Why aren't you applauding this?

Perhaps bigger gun free zone signs would solve the problem? The govt and police should abide by the same strategy.

Back in the Nixon administration, George Bush (the elder) congratulated family planning advocates on all their successes:

As United States Ambassador to the United Nations under the Nixon Administration, President George H.W. Bush (the first President Bush) wrote a letter to Alan Guttmacher (founder of the Guttmacher Institute) congratulating him on creation of a "family planning" stamp commemorating (gasp!!) Margaret Sanger.

This was in the good ol' days: Republicans were for it before they were against it. The Bush family sat on the board of Planned Parenthood and in numerous and sundry other ways supported global efforts to promote access to family planning services.

While women's rights have always been political, this was before it became fashionable and politically expedient to quite obviously sacrifice both evidence and women's bodies openly on the altar of electoral gains.

I find this amusing. All these experts on children mental health issues. Ever been a fifth grade teacher and watch a child slowly descend into life changing mental illness? Talk to a teacher. My wife taught for 25 years and never saw a mental health melt down, and then the last 10 years of her career she saw five children melt down. It was very very very difficult to get the assets to address mental health issues with children. Bipolar melt downs need assets, and the typical school with a school nurse does not cut it. Districts are investing in the tools necessary to address children needs. I think this thread needs to be addressed with the detachment from reality and the blaming of government......it is a type of paranoia which is within the spectrum.
