Falling is a major issue that we can prevent with some social mandates. I'm thinking helmets and knee/elbow pads...

How long must our society suffer simply because some refuse to wear protective equipment? We need more laws folks.

I don't think you guys fully understand how statistics work.

Actually, you guys don't fully understand how statistics work.

There are no fallacies in statistics. Simply misuses. But then you do it all the time in showing us the unemployment and economic figures.

Really?  So what do you conclude from these measures then?  The numbers show us that there are 3.6k accidental drownings but only 0.6k accidental firearm deaths.   Do these numbers allow you to conclude that swimming is more dangerous than handling firearms?

Well since you seem to think that there are that many more people holding jobs since there was an increase in your employment figures then Pacedog's numbers hold just as much meaning as your numbers about employment.

Depends on where you are swimming...and your behavior at the beach/pool/river prior entering water as in eating or alcohol consumption. Then the water is not our natural habitat like it might be sharks or gators.

100% of statistics are just a bunch of numbers.

The number of people who died while juggling flaming chainsaws is less than the number of people who died while swimming.

GOP supporter conclusion:  Swimming presents a greater danger than juggling flaming chainsaws!

You guys are smart.
