I played poker this morning and while playing one of the players told a story about one of his employees. The poker player owns six bars and restaurants in Chicago and the suburbs. One of his employees was waiting at the CTA rail line when he and his younger brother were approached by a group of seven teenagers and young adults who challenged the brothers who were sitting waiting for their ride home when they began questioning them about what gang affiliations they had. They knocked the hat off the younger brother, and the older brother who was this man's employee jumped in to tell them they both were not in any gangs. The gangbangers took out a machette and started striking the older brother and kicking him.
The employer then took out his cell phone and showed his employees injuries to his head which included this huge gash across his forehead. He said the guy tried to come back to work, and the boss who was playing poker told him to go home. We all talked about how lucky he was the blade caught mostly his skull and not his neck. He lived and if it was typical gangbanger they would have shot him.
I got home and on the news they were showing this video of the attack on this man.......fricking unbelievable. Gangs, illegal drugs, and the war on drugs have created a nightmare which continues to terrorize society......this has to stop.
