Put a cop in a military combat uniform, complete with armored vest, gloves, helmet, etc., and allow him to point an assault rifle at us, and instantly he's no longer one of us, he's one of them.
And if we perceive cops as the enemy, all the military hardware in the world won't save their sorry asses. And it doesn't take violence to achieve the result we want. Once we turn on the LEOs, they won't be able to do their jobs and their elected superiors will be doomed. The minute the public at large sees cops as the enemy, American justice falls apart.

Bill Hickok survived as a lawman because the town saw him as a protector. Had they seen him as a threat he would have been gunned down at once. So much for cops pretending to be soldiers.
