One dead, two injured in shooting on Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital campus in the Philadelphia suburbs

How it went down this past Thursday: A disturbed 49 yo psychiatric patient, Richard Plotts, went postal with a firearm at his doctor's office. He killed a female mental health worker and then confronted a doctor, shooting him in the head. The bullet only grazed the doctor, who quickly pulled out his own heater and drilled Plotts three times, center-mass. The doctor is okay, and the suspect survived, but is now in critical condition.
Lots of "what-ifs" can be contrived from this story, like who is/are the victims in this situation, etc.
