Who wants to kill the minimum wage?

Who wants to kill all unions?

Who wants to cut taxes on the ultra wealthy and on big corporate blood suckers?

Who wants to kill unemployment insurance, social security, welfare, foodstamps, Planned Parenthood, and contraception in all its forms except for abstinence?

Admittedly our current government, right and left, is owned by corporate donors.

But why make it even worse?

So what you're saying is the republicans don't want a welfare state? hmm

And why is the title of this thread directed only at republicans when you then go on and blame both left and right? Are you confused?

Gee, you asking me if I'm confused is the pot calling the kettle black! No maam' (may I use that term without offending you?), I'm unhappy with Obama and his administration which is far too supportive of conservative issues and values. He talks liberal, but his actions are pure support of the MIC and Wall Street. Even his healthcare program is nothing but a boon for the profit of bloodsucking health insurers.

So, I'm not the least confused Maam', I know who I'm for and who I'm against. At his worst, Obama is better for America than his competition who are openly against the average American and 100% for the blood sucking corporations who have bought their support. Read my other comments to find out where I stand, since you are obviously confused, as usual. Maam ..

Institutional systems are not compassion. But otherwise I like your post... I'm glad to see objective criticism.

Maybe this will clear things up:

http://www.nationofchange.org/psssst-wanna-buy-my-corporation-1400338863

"Where’s Charles Dickens when we need him? The novelist, who laid bare the shame of gross income inequality in 19th century England, came up with some perfect names for his more despicable characters, including Scrooge, Mr. Tulkinghorn, and Miss Havisham.

So I’m wondering what moniker Dickens would’ve given to Robert Marcus.

Marcus became chief of the cable company on New Year’s Day. He immediately reached out to his corporation’s biggest rival, Comcast, offering to sell Time Warner Cable to the giant. Only six weeks later, the deal was done.Who? He’s the CEO of Time Warner Cable who already won gold in the 2014 Greed Olympics for grabbing the most cash with the least effort in the shortest time.

Why would a CEO rush to eliminate both his corporation and his own job? Perhaps because of a lucrative little provision in the contract he signed to become Time Warner’s honcho. It’s a CCC — a “change of control clause.”

This is yet another way for CEOs to feather their own nests, for that kind of clause hands a big golden parachute to the top executive of a corporation that gets sold.

In this case, Robert is pocketing $80 million. Yes, that’s roughly $1.8 million a day for each of the 44 days he “worked” to sell off the company.

What we have here is a perverse form of incentive pay for corporate chieftains. Rather than rewarding them for out-competing their rivals, a change of control clause encourages CEOs to sidle up to their competitors and whisper: “Psssst, wanna buy my corporation?”

Not only did Marcus sell off Time Warner, but his self-serving deal will also sell out untold numbers of its employees who’ll be made “redundant” by the merger.

We hear about America’s growing income inequality gap, but here we can actually see it widen: One rich man is gaining an extra $80 million while hundreds of workers will lose their jobs."

Is your knowledge of our history really that bad?

Jamestown was 1630 and none of the Jamestown settlement had anything whatever to do with the Revolutionary War or the "founding" of our country. The Declaration of Independence was 1776, the Revolutionary War ended in 1782 and the Constitution was signed in 1789.

Someone somewhere here said you are a teacher. Where please? I want to make sure no child I know is so badly informed.

A lesson about Jamestown

The Feudal system of property ownership was the rule in Europe for thousands of years.  The Feudal system was similar to Communism.  The king owned the land and it was leased or loaned to the commoners who shared all they raised with the king.

Hundreds of years before America began to be settled Europe began to move away from the Feudal System because of it many failure and began using the Alodial system. The system of Private Property rights.

Jamestown was the first settlement here in the new world.  It was begun as a communal system.  Everyone owned all the land and shared in all the work and labor.  Of the original hundreds of settlers, hundreds died over the winter due to starvation and exposure.  More settlers came to replace those who had died of starvation or exposure.  New evidence reveals in those lean years they resorted to cannibalism.

A new governor took command of the area and appointed a new leader for Jamestown.  Obviously the one for all, all for one; from each according to their ability to each according to the need was a massive, repeated failure.

The new governor divided the land among the families.  Seeds and implements were also divided and everyone could keep, barter or sell everything they owned paying a small "tax" to the governor to govern and maintain order.  Jamestown began to thrive with some nor using their seeds but trading or selling them to others in exchange for teaching their children or work making farm implements, shoeing horses helping building.

Long before the terms came into being, Private Property Rights and Capitalism saved the country.

To say that the Declaration of Independence and Constitution came about because of Progressivism, they are indeed fools.  The country was formed for FREEDOM AND LIBERTY, even if that is sometimes painful.

You Progressives have so very much to learn about our history.

But evidently we don't have near as much to learn about history as you do. Jamestown was not the first European settlement in the New World. The Spanish had settlements in the Caribbean Isles long before Jamestown. And, in fact, there was a settlement in North America before 1600. Once again you fail to deal with facts when you declare you are dealing with fact. Laughable!

Who knew the Caribbean Isles are part of America?  For that matter, my ancestors colonized Iceland, Greenland and parts of Canada north of Maine?   I realize you are rapidly succumbing to senility, but you claimed Jamestown was the first European colony in THE NEW WORLD.  And black slaves who escaped their Spanish masters created the first foreign colony in North America in the mid-1500s at the mouth of the Pee Dee river.   Like your idiot side-kick War Hero who declares himself a teacher, your history lessons are as accurate as your political facts.  But you are, in every way, the perfect foil.

Thank you!

Socialists/Communists, Wordslinger and others try hard to forget that it is THEY who divide everyone into separate pigeon holes, as he has done above, and then find a way to pander to them.

THAT is racism, sexism, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and every "ism". That is finding different ways to treat different groups.

Why would they do that, because the believe, deep in their hearts that others are not as good as they are and need someone to feel superior to.

It really is that simple.

Wrong again you silly old fool. You don't need to feel superior to anyone when you recognize they are wrong most of the time. Facts are facts. LOL
