Obama Rips Dem-Controlled Senate for Rejecting His Justice Dept. Nominee

In a surprising turn of events, the Democrat-controlled Senate on Wednesday voted 52-47 to reject President Barack Obama’s nominee to head the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division.

Known best for the role he played in the legal defense of convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal, Debo Adegbile will also be known as the first Obama nominee to go down in the Senate even after Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) passed the so-called nuclear option that makes it possible to confirm judicial and executive nominations by a majority vote.

As you may recall, President Obama's "Green Czar" Van Jones who was hand picked by the Obama's close friend Valerie Jarrett is also a strong advocate for freeing the convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Why is this administration so fond of cop killers?

This is the man he defended after he had been convicted......
Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, the party leader, recited the details of Faulkner's death in detail. The policeman was "conducting a routine traffic stop when Wesley Cook - also known as Mumia Abu-Jamal - shot him in the back. He then stood over Officer Faulkner and shot him several more times in the chest.

"As Officer Faulkner lay dying in the street, defenseless, Abu-Jamal shot him in the face, killing him. At the hospital, Abu-Jamal bragged that he had shot Officer Faulkner and expressed his hope that he would die."

Al wants to punish the democrats that voted with the Republicans........how democratic.

The Rev. Al Sharpton, a prominent civil rights advocate, issued a statement that took the opposite view. The Democrats who voted with Republicans are guilty of "a betrayal that should not go unanswered," it said.

I do not have an issue with Debo Adegbile defending convicted cop killer Mumia Abu-Jamal. Everyone is entitled to a vigorous defense.

However, like Van Jones, Debo Adegbile was active in organizing demonstrations and going far beyond his duty as an attorney. There was never any question of Mumia's guilt.

Here is Van Jones, also active as a demonstrator pushing for the release of Mumia Abu-Jamal.

Why is President Obama pressing so hard to have these radicals in his administration?

Yes, but Debo Adegbile is the one who embarrassed Harry Reid and the President by being rejected by the Senate. This was EVEN after Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid exercised the nuclear option requiring one 51 votes to confirm nominees and appointments.
