This article came from the Defense News website. Defense News is a Gannett publication focused on military issues.

The article talks about how GOP Representative Buck McKeon (R-CA), Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, is retiring in 2014 after 24 years in Congress.  The article says some very candid things about the Tea Party:

“…he (Mckeon) revealed Washington’s recent dysfunction and the tactics of his party’s tea party members influenced his decision to retire…”

….McKeon candidly acknowledged the changed composition of the House GOP caucus that includes around 80 tea party-affiliated conservative members less interested in cutting deals than jamming the gears of government to a halt…..

“…Retail politicians like McKeon are being replaced in Republican ranks by ideologues. This probably does not bode well for the party’s future electoral prospects….”

McKeon also offers no fondness for President Obama, but he is clearly frustrated with his party’s Tea Party faction. How are rank and file Republican voters being bamboozled into voting morons into office?

Getting the same progressive govt solutions/results from either party is what doesn't bode well for our country.

At some point there must be and will be divergence... that will either be left to authoritarianism... or right to liberty.

The neocon pretense of being different is no longer going to cut it. I want measurable results... not platitudes.
