Here is my idea for theftproofing someone's lunch: Lockable plastic containers that only open when the correct pin number is entered. The lid will contain one of those chips you find in greeting cards that will shriek a siren noise loudly, and blare: "YOU STOLE MY LUNCH!!" if the container is inapproriately opened.
Now, I need to work on a patent application and find a cheap Chinese manufacturer to make my product for me. I can see the $millions$ rolling in as people fall over themselves to buy my containers "As Seen On TV" in stores like Big Lots.

I'm lucky, I have an acquired taste for several foods not well known or liked here in the deep south.
We had one fellow in an office I worked in who would, if he got hungry, take something out of the refrigerator. I didn't bring a sandwich often but when I did I brought head cheese on rye. No one ever stole it. For snacks I kept a large jar of pickled herring in the refrigerator. No one ever touched that as well. Someone cleaning out the fridge did throw out a bottle because they were certain it was spoiled. Now, each year at Christmas they buy a large bottle of pickled herring for me.
Head cheese or souse is still pretty popular in this area. Lot of the small stores in Ethinc areas sell it. Happy Nicks on North Palafox still has it in the Deli counter. Pickeled Herring not so much. I acquired a taste for Herring when I was at fort Devens, near Boston Mas. Good stuff.
